That's right, everywhere. QB?? Yup, with all the needs for upgrades at at almost every position, the Dolphins can't afford to keep Matt Moore at a 4 mil salary.
Next year's QB draft could end up being one of the deepest ever. Dolphins need to add a quality QB in the middle rounds. Trade Moore to Giants for S Cooper Taylor and convert him to LB. He would immediately take significant snaps from Wheeler because Wheeler couldn't cover Dolly Parton.

The OL is an abomination and the RB position obviously needs to be upgraded. TE? I say go with the youngsters. WR? Yes!! Wallace's contract is evil, and he should be cut in 2015 after the Dolphins develop another guy behind him. That guy needs to be acquired this offseason.

The DL could be depleted if Starks and Soliai walk. Wheeler and Ellerbe stink!! Their ranking and performance are rank! Dolphins are stuck with their contracts for a couple more years because Ireland is the biggest idiot in football; unless, of course, we want to lead the league in dead money against the salary cap.

Secondary? Hopefully Grimes likes Miami and will stay 3-4 years for a reasonable price; play boundary for a year or two and then move to the slot and hopefully become the next Antoine Winfield for another 4 years. Patterson probably isn't worth keeping at his salary with his injury history. I predict Carroll will leave Miami for circumstances better suited for his future. Clemons? Ah yes....what of Clemons, indeed, what of Clemons, and the safety position in general. Jones was grossly overpaid so now; how do hold onto Clemons? He is probably gone. Pity really, fastest safety in the league and just kept improving a little bit every year. Ireland should have given both Jones and Clemons reasonable deals last March. Ireland is and idiot!

Vaughn Martin shouldn't be on this team next year. Marvin Austin has hopefully grown up a little and will be ready to become a rotational lineman in the NFL.
It would be really nice if Soliai would stay. If Ireland is fired I think we have a great shot at keeping him; otherwise, I think he is much too offended by the way he has been treated to stay.

So, for the sake of this scenario lets say Ireland is fired and Soliai stays,Grimes is retained, along with Clemons.

Dolphins trade Olivier Vernon to the Chargers for a 4th round pick tomorrow. Jordan,Shelby and Wake are going to get the snaps anyway.

If the Dolphins were really serious about winning a super bowl in the next couple years they would trade Starks to the 49ers for Luke Marquardt and a 3rd and 4th rounder. 49ers have a ton of draft picks again in 2014 and Ray McDonald is playing with a torn bicep and they have no depth at 5-technique. Justin Smith is banged up again as well.
If we offered, they would be fools not to jump at the chance. Creative money dealings would be necessary because the 9ers got no cap room. All of the 8 and a half mil would count against our cap this year but I think the 9ers would need to give Starks a new contract with a nil cap number this year.

Even with all the crappy contracts the Dolphins would still have the cap room to sign a couple FA's. OG Jon Asamoah is a perfect fit. DE Lawrence Sidbury could be the FA sleeper of 2014. If LT Jared Veldheer comes available you break the bank.
