Figured I would start a thread so that we could all post our thoughts as we watch the combine tomorrow I'm pumped up! Hopefully my exam doesn't suffer too much on Monday haha.
Yea, he's having a nice showing. About what I would've guessed with him weighing at 309. But man, Greg Robinson weighs 332!! A 4.8 and 27.5in vertical at that weight is pretty freakish, imo.
"Tiny" Richardson has impressed me so far as well even though his 40 won't jump out at you. 6'6 and 336 did 36 reps and ran a 5.19
FirstRoundGrade tweeted their google doc with measurements https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...hPckREX3NQd0dQTGc&f=true&noheader=false&gid=4
Amaro ran his first 40 at 4.66. Ebron with a 4.5, Lyera with a 4.47, and Niklaus did not run. All times unofficial
Dan Kadar @MockingTheDraft 18mTroy Niklas isn't running because he has a strain, as @MatthewFairburn noted earlier this week. Expand
Cyrus Kouandjio will definitely be around when we pick now, and probably could have slipped into the 2nd round. I think his workout so far definitely makes him a RT. I understand he is 6'7 and 322, but last year DJ Fluker was 6'5 and 339. Fluker did 21 reps while running a 5.31, on the other hand Kouandjio did 21 reps and ran a 5.59. He also checked in with shorter arms and smaller hands than Fluker.
I'll take Lewan as a consolation if it should work that way. But that would look weird wouldn't it?1 year removed from losing our LT that we chose in the first round, that wore #77 at Michigan, and whom is 6'7", to using our first round pick on an LT that wears #77 at Michigan, and whom is 6'7".
you do know we pick 19th right? Lewan probably won't be there, we know Matthews and Robinson won't there, I liked Kouandjio but after this news about his knee he could be a 2nd or 3rd round prospect, Zach Martin is probably really a guard, we could go Morgan Moses or Tiny Richardson but they're probably reaches there. if we found our LT in free agency then okay, Moses/Richardson/Martin in the 1st is fine, but if not then we could have a draft similar to last year where there were 3 left tackles that separated themselves from their peers and the rest are reaches at where we pick. honestly at 19 guys like Louis Nix, Mosley, Ebron will probably be the best players available, if Hickey chooses to go that route.
honestly we might as well trade down, Ireland left this team with so many needs we need all the picks we can get.
I also think that would be best, to gain some more picks. i don't think there is much value at 19 compared to gaining picks.
If either Lewan or Ebron are OTB at #19, I hope Hickey pulls the trigger. Otherwise, and assuming all the blue chippers are gone, I'd be cool with trading back to pick up another second round pick. Ebron looks to be the best TE prospect in some time. He and Clay would make a great tandem IMO. And, I like Lewan a lot if we don't address the position in FA.
Guys I'd take at 19: Sammy Watkins - WR Mike Evans - WR Brandin Cooks - WR Eric Ebron - TE Taylor Lewan - T Timmy Jernigan - DT Aaron Donald - DT I'd give some pretty strong consideration to Allen Robinson, Louis Nix, Stephon Tuitt, Darqueze Dennard, and Justin Gilbert as well.
Mike Evans would sure look good opposite Wallace. He seems like the type of receiver that Tannehill would love to throw to.
Have a feeling Evans ends up in Detroit, they have been searching for that perfect #2 guy opposite Calvin. Defense be damned!
I think Watkins would be a much better fit there, but he might be taken before the Lions pick. One thing is for certain, Evans won't make it out of the top half of the 1st round.
Donte Moncrief a big winner. Love what forgotten seniors Jordan Matthews, Cody Hoffman and Devin Street have been laying down.
