https://tv.yahoo.com/blogs/tv-news/2014-primetime-emmy-nominees-122908368.html Some VERY interesting nominees this go-round.
Unacceptable that American Horror Story has 17 nominations but Hannibal gets snubbed. UNACCEPTABLE. It's a joke that Anthony Hopkins won an Oscar for Silence of the Lambs but Mikkelsen doesn't even receive a nomination for his transcendent portrayal of Hannibal. IMO the Emmy's have really messed up by having "Best Drama" and its related rewards be so all-encompasing despite there being more than enough thriller/suspense and crime shows to warrant their own category.
I agree. How about the fact that Jon Hamm has never won in six years for best actor? In fact, I believe this is the first year he's even nominated.
That's nuts. Do you watch Suits? Rick Hoffman (Louis Litt) is easily one of the best supporting acting performances on TV. Fantastic show too BTW. It's in my Top 6 with Hannibal, Breaking Bad, The Wire, Deadwood, and House of Cards.
almost forgot about her. The other one I forgot about is Rectify's Adam Young [Daniel Holden]. And IMO it's not even about figuring out who to bump from Best Lead Actor in a Drama to add him to it but rather who on that list is more deserving of the Emmy than Young.
Other than technical awards, no comedies or dramas that I watch nominated for anything. I'll skip it.
just realized The Wire was never nominated, nor for a Golden Globe....... yet The Shield won a Golden Globe for best drama in '03 when The Wire was in the middle of season 2.
