I'm in, looking to co-GM with one of my buddies who will join the site soon. We're interested in GMing the Seattle Seahawks.
updated. making some progress. 17 teams signed up so far (thats more than half for those non-math majors). hopefully we'll get a few more tonight and maybe do the drawing this weekend for the Fins GM at least. just picked up a case of beer, about to really get into this salary cap ****. gotta figure out how to use excel again.
ok, just finished the Arizona Cardinals roster/salary cap/dead money. Whats a good way for me to upload this? Dropbox? Also, if someone could just go over and double check the salaries (Overthecap) and dead money, that would be great.
Would it be easier if I just gave you Mach's spreadsheet for GML over on the other site? It has all the teams and players already.
oh hell ya. its taken like 40 minutes to do 2 teams so far and currently I'm 2 beers down as well. thats not a very healthy pace if I'm trying to get all 32 teams done tonight
I have no problem helping finsbuck as I did Paul but I think it's really ****ty someone just volunteers my work which takes a bit of time without asking me.
I'm sorry, I didn't mean it in a disrespectful way. You're right, I should've asked before volunteering it. My sincerest apologies Mach.
i just wanna make really awful, drunken trades that i regret in the morning. 15 more spots to be filled until i can do so
If you need a few people to take 2 teams... I could stink up two as a last resort. Say Cowboys and Chargers.
nah, we'll get filled up. thephins over all has been pretty dead lately cause its the off season. however, I'm thinking about picking the Dolphins winner tonight and creating the order for drafting the rest of the teams (obviously I'd do this via Random.org). That way we can at least get things started and the remaining 13 GMs can just pick their teams in a first come first serve basis. what do you guys think? should I get the teams started? also, I'm going to have to edit the rosters with the players that have been cut recently/retired.
I can see us getting a few more, but I'm not sure about 13. I would say if someone is willing to take 2 teams then go ahead. Hopefully between that and the others that join that fills up the 13 slots.
Any movement on this? Or are we facing some uncertainties with not enough GM? Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
So, not sure if anyone would be interested in this, but I'll throw it out there because it looks like we need to maybe adapt this thing due to lack of GMs. Could we just have however many teams there are GMs for, do something along the lines of a fantasy draft including cap numbers for all players who are not FAs, and then just conduct the rest of the offseason the way we have in the past? This might be more work for the commissioner, but might not be that much more. It also might make the GML a little bit more exciting. Just spitballing here on a way to make it work this year.
That is an interesting thought and makes it sort of a hybrid between fantasy draft and regular GML. That could be really fun, but my only thought is we are essentially using 32 rosters worth of players and only having roughly 20 teams, each roster will be stacked. I think we need to get this started right away though no matter what we decide. The past timeline had us starting Free Agency the first of March before the real NFL Free Agency starts, but it doesn't look like we will have that option this year. I'm really down to try out anything this year. You never know, maybe we will come across a format that is more fun than in the past. Right now it seems like our options are: 1. Go as normal with majority of GM's taking on 2 teams, 2. complete fantasy draft, 3. some type of hybrid where we fantasy draft the open teams, 4. put all open teams players into free agency. Not sure how the rookie draft would work if we aren't using 32 teams though.
