With the 84th pick in the 2016 NFL Mock Draft, the Washington Redskins select:

Kenneth Dixon
School: Louisiana Tech | Position: RB | Experience: Senior | Height: 5'10" | Weight: 215 lbs | Arm Length: 31 3/8" | Hand Size: 9 1/2"
40 YD: 4.58 | Bench: 18 | Broad: 121" | 3-Cone: 6.97 | Shuttle: 4.28

Positives:

• Shorter but anything besides small. Runs like a bigger back with a lot of heart and toughness. Not afraid of contact. Runs with good pad level
• Great instincts on top of being a patient runner. Has a knack for letting his lineman work, finding the crease, and hitting it full speed.
• Good speed and gets up to top gear very quickly. Elusive runner with quick feet to cut effortlessly. Changes direction well.
• Very good as a receiver. Natural hands and runs good routes out of the backfield. Willing and smart in pass pro.

Negatives:

• [*=left]Fumbling is a huge issue; must have better ball security with 13 fumbles in 3 seasons.
[*=left]Speed is good but not elite. Won't consistently break away from NFL defenders.
[*=left]While not afraid of contact he won't often break tackles. Does much damage due to his pad level and momentum rather than pure strength
[*=left]Lacks strength in his punch in pass pro.

Pro Comparison: Fred Jackson, Buffalo & Seattle

Overview:

With big upgrades coming on Defense, its time to turn our attention to offense and help out Kirk Cousins and a RB committee that lacks a true bellcow. Matt Jones is supposed to step up to that spot but I'm not quite sold on him just yet. Chris Thompson is a very good third down back but Dixon is a guy who can play all 3 downs at a high level. An improved running game should help to take the pressure off of Kirk Cousins and give him even more ability to excel in an offense that became his last season. Dixon will compete with Jones for the starting job but even if Jones prevails, having three capable backs on one roster will be something Washington hasn't had in a very long time.

With the 87th Pick in the 2016 GM League Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select:

Xavien Howard

School: Baylor | Position: CB | Experience: Junior | Height: 6-0 | Weight: 201 | Arm Length: 31 1/4” | Hand Size: 9 1/8”
Best of Pro Day and Combine - 40 YD: 4.41 | Bench: 11 | Vertical: 38.5” | Broad: 125” | 3-Cone: 6.94 | Shuttle: 4.15

Overview:
After two years of watching the Baylor defense from the sidelines, Howard was enough of a playmaker as a sophomore and junior that he left early for the NFL. He redshirted in 2012, and then had five tackles as a reserve cornerback and special teamer the following year. Howard worked his way onto the field as a sophomore and never left, starting all 26 games over the past two seasons. He used his NFL-sized frame to make 93 tackles as well as led the team in interceptions (four in 2014, five in 2015) and pass breakups (13, 10) in both years, twice garnering honorable mention All-Big 12 notice from league coaches.

Strengths:

• Has feet to impede and crowd receivers from press.
• Short-area accelerator to chase and close on slants and crossers.
• Has hips that swivel open for easy turn-and-run ability.
• Asked to be an island corner all game long.
• Confidence level soared in 2015.
• Instinctive with ball skills that are undeniable.
• Uses well-timed head turn to find ball and react.
• Scrapes, claws, scratches, clubs and tears and the catch point to disrupt.
• Has 32 passes defensed, including nine interceptions, over last two years.
• Big and physical in coverage.
• Compares to Byron Maxwell

Weaknesses:

• Quicker than fast with questionable long speed.
• Handsy and panics when he thinks he might get beat.
• Mauls like a bear downfield rather than trusting his technique.
• Has 14 pass interference and 5 holding penalties against him over last two seasons.
• Speed tends to diminish when turning to find the ball.
• Will lose feel for receivers at break point.
• Allowed seven touchdowns in 2014.
• Not a "get downhill and attack" run defender and stays glued to blocked.

Scout Says:
- AFC East scout

GM Says:

Bottom Line:
With his broad frame, Howard looks more like an NFL safety than a traditional cornerback, but he possesses the natural coverage skills and confidence to remain on the perimeter. After redshirting his first season and seeing limited action in 2013, he emerged as a standout in 2014 and hasn't looked back since, developing into one of the Big 12's best all-around corners. With patience, he should develop into a starter at the next level, as well, projecting best in a press-heavy scheme.

With the 95th pick Denver selects
Jihad Ward, 6'5 297, DT/34DE Illinois

Some of you may be asking, "why Ward here?".
Well- because you don't draft for immediate need in the 3rd round. You draft for the future. On Denver's D-line, Sylvester Williams & Vance Walker will be FA's next year [Broncos are tight on money], and Jared Crick is nothing but a backup. That leaves only Derek Wolfe & A'Shawn Robinson as the starters of a 3-man front. I have a 1st round grade on Jihad Ward, and in any other year he'd be hyped as such. Because this is such a strong, deep DT class, it's nonsensical to pass on such a talented player in order to draft for need elsewhere at a position that's not as strong this year. Basically, if a positional group happens to be particularly strong & deep, grab yourself a player or two there for future building blocks.

A'Shawn Robinson is more NFL ready and will replace the departed Malik Jackson this year..... but Ward is a great, natural replacement longterm for Malik, with A'Shawn kicking inside to replace Sylvester Williams next year. For Denver's defense to remain perennially elite, there needs to be continuity from one year to the next. Ward provides this by allowing a seamless transition into a starting role in 2017.

With the 101st pick of the 4th Rd the Cowboys select: Alex Collins RB (Arkansas)

*A fellow Razorback to join with McFadden to bring the RB position back up to 2014 status. Collins is a solid 5'10" and 217 Lbs.
A strong runner with a solid build that is very effective and reliable in the passing game. Had 1,577 yds and 20 TDs as a Junior this year. A three year 1,000 yd rusher... only accomplished by Hershall Walker and Darren McFadden. He did 18 reps at 225 Lbs. Looking forward to seeing him bashing ahead behind center Frederick and the rest of the OL. Jerry is too... he loves them Razorbacks.

With the 102nd pick of the 4th Rd the Chargers select: Bronson Kaufusi DE (BYU)

*Once again a player basically falls into their lap as Kaufusi is a top-10 rated DE on the Charger Board. Kaufusi is 6'6" and 285 Lbs.
A former head coach called him the 'perfect' BYU football player because of his talent, work ethic and leadership. Son of BYU defensive line coach. Broad shoulders, wide wingspan and athletic frame. Can play both 4-3 and 3-4 options with the occaisional drop back to defend the pass ... with the benefit of his motor not having an idle position. Likes contact and has the strength to shed blockers and grab down ball carriers. A perfect fit for the talent-needing Charger D.

Cyrus Jones, CB, Alabama

SF has drafted a decent number of corners, but none of them have really panned out. There is very little depth there, and getting a player like Jones at this point would be big for them. Jones isn't the biggest corner and will probably fall further than he should because of it. But the guy is a good player and a real competitor. He also brings great return ability to add a boost in special teams.

Pro Comparison: Thomas Jones, Former NYJ

Overview:

Similar to Washington, Chicago lost their lead back this offseason and are moving forward with talented but unproven backs in Ka'Deem Carey and Jeremy Langford. Carey has yet to show very much while Langford had a few impressive games in his rookie year but averaged less than 4 YPC. This is where Howard comes in. He will immediately have a chance to grab the lead back role and run with it a la his physical, bruising style. Although you won't see Howard break many big runs, he's the consistent and effective type of back that will pick up 4, 5, 6 yards every run and continue to move the chains. Chicago certainly believes he has the talent to start right away and push Langford and Carey but even if one of the veteran backs grab the starting job, we will rest assured knowing Howard is a more than competent backup and situational back.

With the 120nd pick in the 2016 NFL Mock Draft, the Washington Redskins select:

Willie Henry
School: Michigan | Position: DL | Experience: RS Junior | Height: 6'3" | Weight: 303 lbs | Arm Length: 33 3/8" | Hand Size: 10 7/8"
40 YD: 5.00 | Bench: 28 | Broad: 110" | 3-Cone: 7.57 | Shuttle: 4.53
Positives:
[*=left]Explosive, violent pass-rushing DL who jumps off the tape right away. Quick first step and twitchy for an interior lineman.
[*=left]Well-built and proportioned; could add weight to his frame but already possess NFL ready size.
[*=left]Enough power to stack and shed, strong hands to jolt and work-over offensive lineman.
[*=left]Good closing speed to take down the ballcarrier; solid tackler.

Negatives:

[*=left]Not a full-time starter over the past two seasons. Bit of a one year wonder.
[*=left]Could stand to improve strength and power to be more effective in the run game.
[*=left]Excellent pass rusher but will need to add more moves for the next level.

Pro Comparison: Randy Starks, Miami & Cleveland

Overview:

Washington is shocked to see Henry still on the board late in the 4th. In our mind, he's a top 75 type player, even in a DL class as deep and talented as this one. With the secondary and linebacking corps solidified already, its time to add some youth to an interior defensive line that doesn't have a lot of promising prospects. There's some good veteran depth with Ricky Jean-Francois, Stephen Paea, Chris Baker, and Kendall Reyes but there is a clear need for new blood that can start in the near future. Henry should play 3-4 DE in the Redskin's system and will have an opportunity to grab a starting spot right away. More than likely however, he will be in rotation on passing downs to do what he does best; get after the QB.

With the 122nd Pick in the 2016 GM League Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select:

Jack Allen, RB, Michigan State

Wait, no...that isn't right. Let's try this again...

With the 122nd Pick in the 2016 GM League Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select:

Jack Allen, C, Michigan State

School: Michigan State | Position: C | Experience: Senior | Height: 6-1 | Weight: 294 | Arm Length: 32 1/4” | Hand Size: 10 1/8”
40 YD: 5.29 | Bench: 23| Broad: 101” | 3-Cone: 7.90 | Shuttle: 4.73

Overview:
When an NFL offensive line coach sees that a young lineman was a high school wrestler, a smile comes across his face. Grappling in the trenches is what a lineman does -- and is something at which Allen excels. The former Illinois state title holder at 285 pounds is not the largest center in the country, but no other "man in the middle" matches this four-year starter's toughness, anchor, and aggressive nature. The two-time USA Today All-American missed a couple of games with an ankle injury in 2015, but came back to help his team to a Big Ten title.

Strengths:

• Has a compact build with above average core strength.
• Was a standout wrestler in high school and uses that background to generate quick torques and turns on defenders.
• Understands his strengths and physical limitations.
• Possesses great strength in his hands and can snatch and ride defenders until the whistle sounds.
• Rarely has his hands outside defender's framework.
• Combines arm extension and running feet to redirect gap shooters away from his quarterback.
• Card-carrying tough guy willing to put some extra spice on it when he finishes a block.
• On the move, can adjust tempo and angle to land a squared block.
• Climbs up to middle linebackers with choppy steps and balanced base.
• Despite a lack of athleticism, still has plus body control. Hits where he aims.
• Flat-footed puncher in pass protection.
• Compares to B.J. Finney

Weaknesses:

• Average athleticism and very moderate flexibility.
• Is a little bit stiff in space.
• Inconsistent in his attempts to climb up to second level off of combo blocks.
• Will struggle to get cut-off blocks against instinctive, inside linebackers who will beat him to the spot.
• Able to get away with holding more often in college than he will be able to in the pros.
• At times, will rely on brute force over physical ability.
• When he has to anchor up against bull-rushers, his balance diminishes.
• Doesn't have the mass or length that some teams would like in a starting center.

GM Says:

Bottom Line:
Despite having a cat named "Bubbles," Allen is a coach's dream with the leadership, competitiveness and the tenacious mindset to grind out the will of defenders by the end of the fourth quarter. While there are clearly some athletic limitations, Allen is especially adept at minimizing those while accentuating his strengths. There are too many check marks in his favor to expect him to fall short of an NFL career as an eventual starter.
