In the regular season it really should. However, I'm not sure if Yahoo sees it that way in the preseason.
Rosters are inputted, waiver priority is based on last year's standings with a FAAB of $100 per team. Waivers are processed on August 1 so make your claims before then via Yahoo.
Man, this was such a deep draft and such a deep TE draft that I got to snag Baby Gronk (Shaheen) for 10 bucks in FA even though he was the 45th pick of the draft. Also surprised that no one else bid on Sefarian-Jenkins. Congrats to GIK on winning the Marshawn Lynch sweepstakes by the way.
All 100 waiver points on Lynch, though! Does that mean that you can't pick up any more waivers all season, or that you simply cannot get a player that anyone else bids on? I thought my $20 bid was bold, lol!
So I think I'm now the proud owner of the greatest boom-bust WR corps imaginable! Sammy, Martavis, Keenan, Tyreek, Cordarrelle, Kevin White. Hopefully I'm not blowing this whole thing up in 2 years, lol.
I think that there's a pretty darn good chance that most of those guys aren't NFL starters in two years, and perhaps even out of the league.
Thank u for the vote of confidence. Excuse me while I go grab a strong drink..... and maybe a belt and reliable ceiling fan.
Sammy has Beckham Jr potential if he can ever stay healthy. Martavis is the next Julio if he can stay out of trouble and maintain focus. Based on recent interviews, me thinks it's possible. Keenan is a WR1 if he can avoid freak injuries. Lotta ifs so far. Tyreek. People are simply underestimating him bc of how fast he is. He's the most explosive receiver the league has seen since Bob Hayes, and he's very Hayes-like in general. He's a receiver as much as he's a speed demon. He's crisp. He can run routes. He can catch and make the contested catch, and unlike many super fast guys, he's also one of the most sudden (see his 6.53 cone drill, 2nd best WR time of the past 6 years). Plus a 40.5" vertical. Nobody can cover him this camp, including Jason Peters. Cordarrelle is intriguing bc he's finally got his head on straight and is now taking the game seriously. Talent was one thing he was never short on. Is it too late for him to make up the rest?
Got one spot in a $50 buy in keeper league if anyone is interested let me know. Prizes for 1-3 place and various other in season winnings. trying to get to 12 teams, 4 keepers allowed, kept at 3 rounds higher than previous years draft spot(ie, drafted in 7th, kept for 4th the following year). Thanks!
Tyreek Hill - Too bad Alex Smith is his QB...that severely limits any big plays. When was the last time KC had a relevant fantasy WR? Dwayne Bowe? That one good half season of Jeremy Maclin? Allen - We went over. He aint no WR1. Hes a WR2 at best. And theres more mouths to feed then ever in SD with Gordon, Allen, Henry, Tyrell and Mike Williams, etc. What made him a good fantasy option, the lack of other players to hog his targets, no longer exists. Bryant is a talented player but hes an idiot. Mahbe the year off helped him but he wont listen to anyone...not his SB winning coach, HOF QB, not an organization that rarely misses and is pretty much a model franchise. Until he pulls his head from his behind hes nothing more then a high upside lottery ticket. Cordarelle - Sucks. Cant run routes or track the ball downfield. Until proven otherwise, hes a bust.
