Meh. Like Wilkins and Gaskin. Everything else just kinda meh.

Haskins is going to be interesting to watch, you better be damn sure passing on potential franchise talent.

I didnt like the Rosen trade and thought we got fleeced by a no-options Cardinals drink GM. Middle picks didnt inspire but probably wont be bad.

I hope I eat crow on Rosen. The maneuvering was fairly New Englandish. Otherwise not super impressed in Grier and his deviation from the plan.

I loved it. We got future picks. Stud dlineman. Possible great qb? A couple blockers. Versatile linebacker. A fullback and another do everything back for cheap. We will see who pans out.

    P. S. 2020 will be a fun draft

Tua or bust. I know we are still in position to make that run, but what helps Tua more, a second round OL/WR or Josh Rosen. I also am somewhat concerned of Rosen being juuuuuuust good enough for us to talk ourselves out of QB in 2020 like we have for the past few years.

If we really wanted a QB ... just draft Haskins.

They've never said Tua. The only plan we know of is to get a QB and to "build this thing properly". Getting a cheap, young, talented QB could at best yield a franchise QB, more likely provided competition (something many clamoured for with RT17) and a backup, or worse, he's a total loss, in which case we lost a late second/5th.

Everyone always says the draft is a gamble. This wasn't a bad bet considering what's on the table and the fact that it doesn't really affect the plan to be able to get a high QB pick next year or in two years.

If Rosen is good enough to talk us out of drafting one in 2020 it's because he really came back and lit the league on fire for us. Rosen is worth the risk and we recouped that pick next year anyway. It was a win move all the way around. There was no possible way Ryan Fitzpatrick was going to be the ONLY Quarterback for us this year. The best and probably also most unfortunate way to find a franchise QB is to keep drafting them until you hit on one. John Elway has been doing this for four years now and he may have his guy in Drew Lock finally. It is what it is, but that is the approach we should be taking because franchise QB's are what matter the most in this league. Guys that can keep your team competitive and relevant for a decade at a time.

Not really sure where to put this but considering the UDFA guys have started to be grabbed, is there anybody that you hope Miami manage to get? Not like we don't have camp spaces.

A second round pick is valuable capital. This draft is only a success IF Rosen is franchise material. If he is nothing better than a back-up then the draft was sub par.

Tua is a stand in. The plan was 2020.

I disagree with "cheap" - a 2 and 5 isnt "cheap", only when you compare it to what the Cards originally gave up, but that was a sunk cost.

There is no "competition" either. This job is Rosen's now. If he doesnt kill it, it becomes 2020 Rookies job. You dont draft a guy top 3 to have "competition". We said that for THill only after he was in the league for a few years and not progressing.

I dunno, I didnt like it. I can see why people will and that's fine. I hope Rosen proves me wrong, I was a fan in the 2018 draft. But of felt bad to me here. #shrug

The starting job WILL be a competition between Rosen and Fitzmagic. If Rosen manages to outplay the vet QB, then we might have something. Josh probably has to wait for Fitzmagic to get hurt or falter in his play at some point during the regular season, and then be ready to take advantage of his opportunity.

There is about a 20-25% chance Rosen turns into a good starting QB. Not the worst odds, as it's really difficult to find a franchise QB in the NFL. Even if Miami grabs a QB among the top 3 picks in 2020, they will have at best a 50% chance to be a franchise guy. If we have a pick high enough to get one of the top QBs, even with having to give up a lot of the extra picks, then you have to grab a QB.

Rosen needs to win enough games when he finally gets to start to keep Miami out of range to grab a QB in the 2020 draft. Anything outside of the top 10 picks is probably far enough to make the cost of the trade prohibitive. Even with that, Rosen would have some value as a VERY cheap #2 QB. Or you find a team willing to give up a third or fourth rounder to give him yet another shot at starting.

What's your problem wise ***? You don't like other people giving their opinion?

Seeing as how most NFL first round picks turn out to be busts, I think my opinion is just as good as anybody else's.

Let's talk in a couple of years to see if my opinion was right or wrong. I am usually right.

You just said most if the time a certain scenario happens and that most of the time you are right.

You realize by that logic you could always just have a negative opinion and be "mostly right" through no skill of your own right?

It's a really flawed argument to make. I'm not saying you are wrong or have no skill....I'm just saying it's an incredibly weak argument.

You are right, except for the fact that I don't always have a negative opinion. I loved the Wilkins pick this year in the first round. I liked the Fitzpatrick pick last year (although I said I would have preferred Derwin James). I hated the Charles Harris pick in 2017. I didn't like the Dieter pick in the third this year (thought there were better Olinemen available there) and I didn't like the van ginkell pick in the fifth as it was a massive reach for a very limited player who was projected to go in the 7th round or undrafted.

Like I said nothing against you at all. I agree with some of your assessments but not others. I just didnt think that was a great argument..especially without the context you just gave. It holds up better with that.
