Here's one to watch:

Huh....didn't think about that when we just grabbed the tackle. I wonder how much cap space we have left...and if that means a bigger name could be headed out the door (Howard)? If that's a possibility, then #6 could go in an entirely different direction (Surtain II).
Personally, I would HATE THAT! -

I think it's worth considering that Griers ongoing strategy will be to convert talent into picks on a regular basis, keeping only essential pieces and playing chess with other assets just as with Tunsil.
A sort of economic strategy involving a talent budget (which is what a cap is, really).
This could be in the form of compensatory picks, if not straight trade value.
It may also be a factor in those and other drafts where we seek replacements for guys who are about to become expensive.
Interesting times. -

It was DEFINITELY the right move though. As Tunsil said when he was called to the front office and saw the trade board, "Hell, I'd trade me for that too!" There's no way around admitting that it was one of the best trade deals of the past decade.Irishman likes this. -

Cut Candidates; ‘21 Salary / Cap savings
McCain -7.1M / saves 5.7M
Rowe - 6M / saves 5.0M
Wilson - 5.2M / saves 2.9M
Grant - 4.7M / saves 2.9M
Jesse Davis - 4.5M / saves 2.5M
Fejedelum - 2.5 M / saves 2.5M
Smyth - 2.3M / saves 2.1M
I’m Not saying these players should be cut... But they are the only candidates that could make sense based on multi million dollar savings and relatively low dead cap money. -
Bobby McCain is the obvious move if we draft a safety, and probably the only necessary one.

Also keep in mind that one of the reasons we may need to create cap space is because of how many high round picks we have.Irishman likes this. -

I'd love for Jakeem to make this roster but honestly, I don't see where he fits anymore.Pennington's Limp Arm likes this. -

We should very well be able to replace him with a much, much cheaper player. And yes, he should be the next one out the door.Pennington's Limp Arm and Dan S like this. -

McCain - 7.1M / saves 6.4M
Rowe - 6M / saves 5.5M
GRANT - 4.7M / saves 4.1M
J Davis - 4.5M / saves 3.6M
If any of these guys are cut, I would expect it to come after June 1... for maximum savings.
Fejedelem, Wilson and Smyth numbers make no difference (now or after June 1)
I agree with the majority. Grant’s odds are looking extremely slim. -

That Schad tweet in regards to WRs is only really applicable to the upcoming season, though. After that, the only real money is on Parker, who has very reasonable cap hits of about 9m in 2022 and 2023, and Waddle. Fuller and Wilson's deals are up after 2021, Hurns could (will) be gone by then, and Grant could be gone any day now.
