Certainly not a small receiver who was afraid of contact in the B10. You had Pat Willis there who I wanted, Revis, Timmons and plenty of good players.
Here’s my overall take on the NFL Draft. Take a look at Mel Kiper’s picks. Whomever he says a team should draft…DON’T!
Either way you put it we still would’ve had a bad draft. Even Okoye was bad. Pat Willis retired early.
Do we really need to rehash Ginn vs Quinn? That era was an abomination best left in the shifting sands of time forever. Anyway, lots of buzz on the Georgia crew, so it would be nice to see some guys at positions we don't need slide ahead of us, like Lewis Cine. Keep pushing OL, WR and RB down please. One question though ... who is the replacement if we can't get Ogbah back? Do we fill via the draft or FA?
Maybe the kid from USC slides because of his injury. He was amazing before he got hurt. If he’s 100%, I’d take a long look.
Because, when we drafted Ginn, we didn't just get him, we got his WHOLE family! That's worth at least 8 pro bowls.... Winning!
In the pharmaceuticals we deal with thin glass, and chips and cracks is always a problem. We have a theory that glass has memory, meaning if the glass experiences a shock it will permanently weaken the glass, which explains why you can drop glassware from height and it wont break, but then place it in the cabinent and it shatter. All that to ask, if tendons are similar. Can they be damaged during the course and stresses of a season and then tear during seemingly routine activies like non-contact events. I tried to google, google didn't seem to understand my question.
It makes me wonder if that's the case. Guys have been known to pop an Achilles just by walking. Seems like if it was tensed up or something before it broke, there'd be a sign and a chance to either favor it or get off of it. It seems like ACL tears at least need a hard step, especially when the MCL and LCL go along with them. But Achilles tendons tear from normal activity and without warning, so maybe they do weaken after previous stress and wait for their chance.
I got one guy on my wish list on day 2. Alec Pierce. i watched a lot of bearcats game and he always plays strong, and is kind of like Cupp with the way he moves around the middle of the field.
LMAO, nobody wants to pick in the 1st round this year. The talent is nowhere near as impressive as the last few drafts.
I mean the Saints just got 2 first rounders this year. While QB is super weak, there are some very strong position groups in this draft and it's widely regarded as pretty solid and deep overall. OL and WR especially.
Eagles made out like bandits here. My guess is expect the Saints to trade both picks to the Giants to move up inside the top 10.
It's a weird move for a team that has a lot of needs. Two firsts this year is a quick injection of talent, but they are giving up a fair bit down draft and in the next few years. I could see them as standing pat and taking best OT and WR available in those slots. As much as I don't care for Winston as a QB, I don't really see a better option this year. QB's are being mocked anywhere from 2 to 32, which to me means they are probably not worth taking at all. The Eagles are having a weird offseason. They made the playoffs, but really didn't look at all like they belonged. Their division is WIDE open with the Giants and Foot Commanders sucking and Dallas losing pieces, but they haven't really made a move to get a difference maker. Do they actually believe in Hurts?
Eagles set themselves up in the same way we have. Stacking up picks for next year so that if their QB isn't "The guy" then they have the ammunition to move up in next years draft to take another swing at things.
I like LB/Edge, Trevon Walker from Georgia. I like his potential upside, but he'll be gone before we pick and I would love an ILB at that spot.
Hopefully more QBs rise next year, or the top 2 will command a king’s ransom to move up for. Neither Philly or Miami should finish near the bottom, and the same goes for each team’s second first rounder. Those picks won’t be enough (by themselves) to move up into the top 3.
This place is going to be an absolute mad house if we're good this season and the 49ers struggle with the Jimmy G/Lance QB roulette.
Would I be correct is asserting that this is one of the lowest drafts in the earlier rounds based on what people have seen? I know.alot of pre draft type is overhyped players in some cases but there doesn't appear to be any real stand out can't miss guys in this draft?
I'd say that outside of a couple then the top of this draft is lacking compared to the last few years but that it's a fairly deep draft for talent. So whilst it may lack the a+ and a talent of other years, it feels fairly back loaded in B and C talent that there could still be some very interesting players available come our first pick in round 3. All that of course not taking into account the stuff that the team's have discovered about certain players that the media and public haven't found out about yet.
