I thought it was alright. I like how it's something new with the FBI and all but it's starting out like Seasons 2, 4, 5 and 6 did with Jack being brought back with no power and has to follow orders and probably after the 4th or 5th episode he'll be running the place.
I found everything with the President and her husband pretty boring. And I didn't like how there's already moles inside the FBI, like every season.
I loved evil Almeida but I have a bad feeling that he won't be around much longer unless he's really a double agent (unlikely) or he somehow escapes the FBI (pretty likely considering it happens every season with bad guys). It's too bad because Jack vs. Tony would have been a great running storyline. -
I've missed The Bauer. The season looks pretty decent. My guess is Jack will turn Tony about 2/3 of the way through the season -- Tony's already having doubts about who he's working for -- and they will team up to defeat Candyman.
I'm also breathlessly awaiting hot technonerd tagteam action between Chloe and the Jeanene Garafolo character.
And what was with the Sangalan ambassador who met with the president while holding Bart Simpson hostage in his suit pocket? -
Didn't watch it last night but have it on my DVR to watch today. I'm VERY excited.
-
i think the storylines are pretty solid. kept my attention the whole way
as for the moles, it wouldnt be 24 without them lol -
it just doesn't feel the same. Maybe its just so similar that im getting bored with it.
-
I absolutely loved how Jack talked to the Senate! Honest, down to the point, no nonsense. I'm anxious to see what tonight brings but I agree with a previous post about how Jack has no power in the beginning just like past seasons.
-
great episode cant wait for tonight
the only thing that bugged me was
The Presidents Kid is already dead without showing anything on camera. :pity: I guess i'll just have to wait couple more episodes :dunno: -
so far, so good. wondering what the " first big surprise of the season" is tonite? i'll take a shot in the dark and say that Chloe is working for Tony.
best Jack line of the night was; "I'm not hear looking for a job, so I really don't care what you think." to the Harvey Dent look alike FBI boss.
it doesn't compare to Jack Bauer classics like; "The only reason you're conscious right now is because I don't want to carry you." but there are still 22 hours left of violence left to go. -
Anyway, in his latest hardcover, "Extreme Measures" (released in Nov.), Rapp is hauled before the Senate INtelligence committee for his past "transgressions," all done in the process of saving the country from various nasties.
if you are a 24 fan and a reader, i high;ly suggest are checking his stuff out.dolphinsgirl and maynard like this. -

i like the moral theme that the show is focusing on. jack is a symbol of a path we can take and what a society will condone vs. the way we have always tried to do things. of course jack's way always works best lol. what i like is that he shows the flaws of the current system of law enforcement. one skilled man is more effective than an army of FBI agents
-
Hard to believe all this stuff happen in one day
-
Good start and HOPEFULLY it will make us forget how terrible season 6 was
I think Tony is a double agent -
WTF it was on Sunday???
-
well i called the Chloe thing, if not the other surprise...
-
This season is looking GREAT. So much is going on but it's all very interesting. I love the CTU crew working together again.
I knew Tony could never be a terrorist, he's way too awesome. -
I thought the first 2 episodes were ok but found the last 2 to be great.... like 24 used to be. Hopefully we continue to see the tag team of Jack and Tony throughout the day.
The other stuff with the President, the First Husband and the FBI is a bore though. I can't stand the head of the FBI or the FBI chick who thinks she's the female Bauer.dolphinsgirl likes this. -
i like the angle they are playing with jack now. they found a good way to work in chloe and bill. i have always liked bill.
im not sure i like the whole idea that it is just the four of them. i think it would be much better if they had an ally in the government. maybe the president will be. i hope so -
-
Yeah I really liked Bill too and like I said the 4 of them are great together If they don't receive any other help (which I'm sure they will eventually), it's gonna be quite the challenge for them.
-
I can't stand the FBI characters either. That woman is seriously annoying! Jack Bauer she is not!
My husband thinks John Voight's character will make a return. -
not how he died. That was his best friend they buried
-
-
I do, however, think we'll see Kim (Elisha Cuthbert) this season.
She left to do movies and hasn't been that successfully and recently when she was asked about returning she stated that she'd love to be back on the show. -
-
-
Great to see Jack under cover
They will kidnap the Prez IMO the only question is will Jack and Tony let him be killed as Bill said?? -
-
the show has stuck with me over the last couple of days. i wish it was on everyday lol
-
If Agent Walker is indeed dead (and she should be due to the silent clock), I have to say that was one of the coolest deaths in 24 history. If she's not dead than it's just plain old dumb, especially since in Season 3 Jack wasted no time killing off Ryan Chapelle.
Next weeks episode looks pretty good especially with the Tony/Jack/Emerson triangle, which for some reason leads me to believe that Walker will still be alive and Emerson finds out and wants Jack dead. -
I do agree that next week's episode looks awesome. Can't wait. -
-
-
They wont let her character die yet, IMO they prob find away to contact the other guy that they work with to come unbury her and take her undercover as well.
