1) Terrence Fede; First off, he looks trimmed down a bit, which I guess has worked for him, strong at the point of attack, and good speed in pursuit, great energy and motor that I haven't seen from him in the past.
I guess he took this off season seriously, and it looks as though it is paying dividends, he looked very good out there.
2) Jakeem Grant; First off, never saw a guy look so small out there, but who cares, he proved that is not a distraction to him, because the mental part of being a shrimp out there can psych a person out, but the moment wasn't bigger than him(the only thing that wasn't bigger than him, lol).
He showed great quickness and agility, but more important, great vision, he took what was there to take, and did a great job in his first showing, a + for field awareness.
3) Brandon Doughty; First off, can you freakin imagine what that must've been like, playing QB for the team you grew up on, and grew up in the shadow of the stadium, wow, it's like a Disney movie.
We saw from him exactly what we've been hearing, he finds completions, he showed very good field vision, got the ball out quickly, and threw some very good catchable passes, he's a guy to keep your eyes on.
The most meaningless game of the year, but hey, it was Dolphins football, it's always good to see that uniform out there in live action, a football "fix" is a good thing.
These 3 guys stood out the most to me, I'm not going to scrutinize the game much(see most meaningless game of the year comments), but it's nice to see young players stepping up, and I wanted to point out the 3 that stood out the most to me.
Anyone else have a top 3?

My 3 stars other than Jakeem Grant
1) Lafayette Pitts - His coverage was good and the perfect execution of the tip drill.
2) Julius Warsley - He looked very tough to block, got great penetration and made really good plays.
3) Isaiah Pead - Good vision, quickness and enough speed. I thought he looked like a better runningback than D. Williams.
I also want to give a shout to Tunsil. Other than a couple of plays, he was spectacular. His pass blocking was very good.Ophinerated, Finster and eltos_lightfoot like this. -
#1 = Jakeem Grant = All I could think is "We have to find ways to get him on the field."
#2 - Walt Aikens = Looked totally different from last year. He was in on plays and around the ball.
#3 - Laremy Tunsil = I honestly did not see him as a liability at all at the guard position. I think the Dallas Thomas experiment should be over.Pandarilla, Finster, dolfan7171 and 1 other person like this. -
Folks Dallas Thomas is on borrowed time, the staff has no intention of starting him if we stay healthy. He is merely a pawn in keeping Tunsil motivated.

3 guys from our draft class, Tunsil, Doughty and Grant looked promising to me which is really nice. Grant looked like he belonged in the NFL already and could really improve our Special Teams. It will be nice to get Landry off of return duty. Doughty looked pretty good, yeah its preseason and the competition was backup quality but hey he's a 7th rounder getting his feet wet, really couldn't have asked for any more out of him. Tunsil should be starting over Thomas which is obvious and obviously an upgrade.

Defensive end Julius Warmsley suffered a concussion during the game and was immediately ruled out for a return. He will now enter the league’s concussion program, which will include rest and tests until he is cleared by medical personnel to return. There is no timetable on when that is expected.

not impressed with fede as most of you are, he better be stout against the run over the next few weeks, because he gives you nothing in terms of rushing the passer.
Warmsley, Grant, Chris & Bobby McCain showed up last night.
i also liked Aikens, Hendy and Pitts.
You guys are surprised how small Jakeem Grant looked out there, for me that surprise was on Kiki Alonso..thats our "modern day" MLB looking like a S out there -

Any list of standouts from the game starts with Jakeem Grant and truthfully it might end there because I'm not sure anyone else had a dominating performance. You know there were some guys that kind of intrigued here and there. But it's really Jakeem and everyone else.

The "everyone else" for me would include:
QB Brandon Doughty
RB Isaiah Pead
DE Chris McCain
LB Mike Hull
CB Bobby McCain
CB Lafayette Pitts
If I expanded that list any more than that I fear it would be a useless list.Dol-Fan Dupree, Pandarilla, P h i N s A N i T y and 1 other person like this. -
Chris McCain was all over the joint

I missed the game as well; anyone remember more about the play of Mike Hull?? And does anyone know what is wrong with Zach Vigil?? I'm very concerned about our LB depth. Extremely concerned actually.

That said, kiko is definitely a fast lb. He's got the quickness to go sideline to sideline.Colmax likes this. -

I thought Warmsley popped. Paysinger had a good game and Pead made the team. Maybe move Dalls Thomas to the other side of the line, he plays better for them. Carroo may be somebody too. Hewitt made a few plays. #92 was in midseason form, got to get his autograph when they get here.

Re-watching the game, Andre Branch looked pretty good too, and the missed goal line tackle by Kiko looks even worse, he choose the right gap, got into position, but he didn't even slow Jennings down, it looked like Kiko was covered in grease, he just absolutely slides right off Jennings, it was not good.

I do not know if he was just supposed to engage and just try to get pressure in case of running or something like that. Just watching, it looks like he has no way to get off of the blocker once engaged in pass rush. -
I really like Fede and McCain, and would rather not lose either, but it looks like only one of them will stick, and Fede can play on any down, set the edge, keep the T honest and can also slide inside, as well as being a good STs guy, where McCain seems like a situational passrusher, so if I had to pick, I'd choose Fede.
