After this next Sunday, we will have watched 30 consecutive Superbowls, none of which have included the Miami Dolphins. This puts us in the company with: New York Jets Cleveland Browns Houston Texans (expansion 2002) Jacksonville Jaguars (expansion 1995) KC Chiefs Detroit Lions Minnesota Vikings Pathetic!
way to ruin his rant Adam and King with it only being 28 years. It seems pretty silly to include us in the same company with the other teams considering we were one of the 2 most dominant teams of the 70s decade. those other teams, outside of Minny losing multiple superbowls, never did squat. What some people don't realize is that Joe Flacco has been the first AFC QB not named Manning, Brady or Rothlisberger in 11 years! 10 straight years with those 3 is dominating. So, I can easily say, using the same logic, that 15/18 teams in the AFC have been pathetic over the last 11 years. I'd actually expand it to 4 teams dominating since Baltimore has been to 3/5 AFC championships.
Almost as embarassing is the lack of an AFC Championship Game appearance. Even the Jets have been in 3. All losses, but still, I'd be happy just to make it there at this point. Jurassic Park wasn't out yet the last time they made it to the AFCCG...and the movie is celebrating its 20th Anniversary re-release this spring! In 3D of course...Hell, the first Bush was still president for a little bit after that game. I was a pre-schooler too young to care about football, so I've only watched them get blown out of the divisional round.
It's not silly. It's fact. Who gives a rat's *** what this franchise did 3 decades ago. Fact is, we've been irrelevant for the better part of decade. Are things looking up? Sure. But comparing the Dolphins to those team is not silly at all. Preaching about how good we were 30 years is ago is what seem silly to me.
Geez, try wikipedia please. Marino played in superbowl 19, Woodley played in superbowl 17. nice try though
Did anybody watch the nfl or espn special on the superbowls this weekend. I saw the miami vs vikings in that superbowl and all i can say is Miami had some damn good olinemen back then . we wure didnt throw the ball that much back in Griese 's day but when BOB passed the ball he was accurate though. i forgot just how much faster Mercury Morris was .
Geez, I'm sorry if my memory failed. Why say "nice try"? What's your point? What are you insinuating?
I'll take the blame. I became a fun during the 84 game, when I was seven years old. Once I was on board, they were doomed. Even more depressing is no AFC title game since 92. 21 consecutive seasons and we havent made it once, when a team should, on average, play in the game once every eight years. Havent even had a 12-win regular season since 90. Can Philbin get it done? If not, we damn well better hire a coach with a winning history next time.
my only point is that you were being smarmy with your comeback about insisting it was SB 17 without checking, nothing else.
