I'd see if Rams would trade Higbee, he would feel blocking and receiving TE need.

 

Colt McCoy is available.. good option at backup qb

 

I think Colt is valued around the league, and someone will show him the value with a decent contract.

I wish it could be us, he is as solid as it gets for a backup qb. If we had him instead of bridgewater.. who IMO quit on the team with that finger injury and never wanted to be here… i think we win 1-2 more games that tua wasnt in..

I like him, but agree that he should be the one they let go. Wouldn't doubt if N.E. shows interest.

 

And that persists through multiple HCs, OCs and offensive line coaches. I know Grier goes out and gets them, but all the staff they have had can’t recommend even a couple of decent players?

 

There are going to be quite a few interesting names in the backup qb pool by this afternoon. Definitely an area we need an upgrade in after this preseason.

 

I would assume the new staff did which is how they ended up with Armstead and Williams.

Close to as bad of a player but 3rd pick vs 30th is a world of difference. Few picks later and people wouldn't care as much about him being bad.

It's weird, because even when we make seemingly good decisions it goes wrong. Remember when we drafted Eichenberg and the consensus in the draft community was that he wouldn't be elite but he would be the definition of solid and reliable. Then he came to Miami and now he looks like he's never played OL in his life.

 

Exactly - it wasn’t a blockbuster pick, but no one was bashing us for making it, either. IIRC, he had some sort of impressive stat his senior season - either no sacks allowed or no penalties against.

 

Just read that he was a passenger in a car that was involved in a drive by shooting, so good to see a pillar of the community heading to Miami.

Zappe would be far superior to White or Skylar.

We know what Skylar and White are. Zappe has had some success. I mean, he can't be any worse.
