He hasn't even thrown 100 NFL passes but he's "had success".

Yes. You don't think he'd be better than Skylar? At what point has Mike White shown he's not terrible?

Yes. I wrote "had some success," which is exactly what throwing 100 passes well in the NFL is. Your reading comprehension is bad.

He hasn't shown enough to prove he's better than either one.

So the roster only has 2 Tight Ends at the moment. (Smythe and Julian Hill)

I think that is bound to change either today or tmrw.

That would be me. Technically, i said he could be the starter for Patriots. Totally stunned by that move. However, the locker room was split on who the players wanted starting. Removes the split now. I would take Zappe in a heart beat.

I'm a White fan and I would take Zappe over White and Skylar of course

Zappe is really good. Reads defenses quick and has a quick release. Would be thrilled to have him. Patriots are going to be terrible.

I would definitely take Zappe over Skylar but lets consider that the most successful coach of all time is letting him sit there for a team to grab and isn't concerned about that.

That same coach also started Bledsoe over Brady and only got lucky that Bledsoe got injured.

Let us also consider that said coach is not a good evaluator of QBs and lucked into Tom Brady and Cassel.

He's a hot mess on the offensive side of the ball. Being able to focus and draft defenses, and then let Brady be the GOAT is basic, and something any coach could do. He also cheated.

He's certainly shown more potential to be better. Proof comes with more opportunities.

    .

    Landed on his feet quickly.
And on a team that has a VERY shallow RB depth chart. Ideal situation for him.

But Bledsoe was better at that point

It would also have been justified to go with Huard as the backup and he didn't

Not surprised he's a decent RB, sadly he was on a team that happen to have a lot of decent RBs.

Not ideal. Dolphins didn’t play their cards right on that one. Basically didn’t even play him final preseason game in an attempt to hide him. Didn’t work.

Just checked the initial 53. This is a good roster that might get better in the next day or so. The only places I think needs improvement are tight ends and the OL. Some teams are going to help themselves by picking up our castoffs and that's never a bad thing (unless we cut the wrong guys).

He's also a QB that was drafted by Bellichick. He's likely not worth it.

Patriots brought him back. Likely had a side deal with him to come back.

Apparently they wanted to keep him regardless of what you said. There is a new rule that protects injured players by not having to put them on IR, that is what rumor is they did with Chosen; hoping he would clear wavers and bring him back

He still went unclaimed so regardless of the Pats wanting to keep him no other team saw him as an upgrade.

It is reported he had offers and chose to go back to the Patriots.

"Several teams sought Zappe's talents after he cleared waivers, per Pelissero, but ultimately, Zappe opted to return to New England, where the Patriots will keep him in a group that doesn't count against the 53-man roster but could be called upon in case of emergency."

This was AFTER he cleared waivers, just to clarify. No one thought enough of him to put a waiver claim on him.

Offers to go on another teams practice squad. He wasn't valued over guys already on rosters.

I would definitely inquire about Zappe.
    Kellen Mond as well:

Mond was cut by two teams already and hasn't been signed by anyone. What do you see in him?

Not much. I liked him a bit coming out of college. He’s been bad in the pros, but may be worth just looking into, but Zappe would be the one to really consider.

Zappe (and Cunningham) back with Pats. I would look at Will Grier; Mond, not so much.

Makes sense why we kept so many RB’s after Wilson ends up on IR.
Brooks may get some actual run if Ahmed remains banged up.

Interesting note. Higgins was claimed by 5 different teams. More than any other player.

Grier is already signed with someone’s practice squad. Appears the brass are happy with Skylar. We are stuck with him.

Matt Corrall is the only new QB on waivers today. That was originally protected yesterday.

New loophole in Backup QB rules. Pats are playing a game.

Yeah, Grier signed with the Bengals. Oh well, like you said, they seem to like Skylar for whatever reason.
