@68INCOGNITO is doing everything possible to save Jake Long

The only reason I wouldn't want Jake Long to sign at this point is to see Incognito's rejected girlfriend tweets if he signs elsewhere.

He very may well be. He won't get it, simply because 3 years of lowered production, regardless of whether or not injuries were the cause, is still three years of lowered production. But at 7-8 million a year, it's worth it to sign him.

I fear if we don't sign Long, we're going to use the 12 pick on a lineman, or the 12 and a 2nd to trade up for one. Two picks in the top 50, to replace a starter (who himself was a #1 overall pick) for 4 cheap years at LT simply isn't worth it, in my mind. If Miami is committed to getting a premier LT, might as well pony up the money now. Give it to a guy who can be dominate, save two of the top 50 picks (or at least #12 itself) and sacrifice the money. Can't keep drafting LT's every 4 years to save on costs.

I would think if they were going to cut Richie, it would have happened by now... I assume he'll play out his contract and who knows where they'll go from there.

 

i think if he sticks around after the draft he is safe
