If we're going to highlight the heck out of 1 pass attempt to Fasano, we might as well be fair and discuss Henne's TD to Hartline since his down field accuracy is an area that we were hoping he would improve upon.
Was the throw too far to the right? Too far to the left? Any of that? lol. :shifty:

700 Posts on Henne's perfectly placed pass to Bess
If we're putting Henne under the microscope and nitpicking accuracy, then he deserves credit for the accurate throws he DOES make, especially ones of a higher degree of difficulty.
The pass to a diving Bess was outstanding. He puts it in a location where only Bess can get it while there's a defender ready to jump the route for an easy pick. Nice job Chad; however I'm sure people hoo'd and haw'd during the game thinking it was a crappy throw. -
He read the coverage well and fired that f*cking pigskin!
Awesome pass Mr. Henne. Please do more of that.SCall13, dolfan7171, ToddsPhins and 1 other person like this. -

700 Posts on Henne's improved feet
We can't have 700 posts on a Henne pass being a hair off target and not have 700 posts about his improved ability in the pocket since this was an area of concern last year. Between the 2, Henne's improved feet is much more significant than 1 catchable ball that Fasano botches, so that merits as much or more discussion. -
That was a good pass. I am a little concerned that Hartline fell down. I have no idea why Hartline couldn't keep his feet.

It was..8 pass attempts...good or bad..in a meaningless preseason game...

LOL, hope you dont mind I merged the 3 topics Todd. Pretty funny though.
I blame the Chicken Parm that Fasano must have been eating for being too greasy causing Fasano to drop that pass :lol:MrClean, dolfan7171, djphinfan and 6 others like this. -
And it was a nice pass. Would like to see Henne do that once per game this pre-season. That would go aways in settling my stomach.ToddsPhins and xphinfanx like this. -

It wasn't perfect, but the receiver managed to catch it anyway for the TD :shifty:....

I just hope there's more of that this year. I've always got frustrated on how we never seem to hit those big plays downfield like every other team does. It was a great play, and hopefully it carries on through the regular season.

Dude can throw the ball. Bob Griese made an interesting comment during the Falcons game - he and most other QBs weren't worth a squat until their 4th season. He was saying in no uncertain terms, with enthusiasm for Chad, to have a little faith, let Henne blossom, historically this is the time for him to really get his career going. And Griese strikes me a pretty direct, no bs kind of guy.
That being said, maybe Henne simply shouldn't have thrown the ball to Fasano, should have checked down because he was pretty well covered. It was just one ball, but as expected- and for some pretty good historical reasons- people were all over his jock for that int and then a quick second one.
Anyway, great ball to Hartline, textbook. Henne either will or will not clean up the sloppy play. He's marked with it, like a fumbling RB. I remain optimistic- it's his 4th year, time to turn the corner, and he can throw the hell out of the ball. It's just high time for him to stop the bonehead throws and manage the game properly. He's got the weapons now, and it's pretty clearly a do or die season for him. Time for him to step up to the plate, he's at the fork in the road.MrClean, dolfan7171, ToddsPhins and 1 other person like this. -

i think hartline was struggling to keep his balance because the pass was overthrown by around 3.8 yards, henne sucks.....!!!!!!

Not sure why it would require 700 posts??????????????????
I don't think anyone would debate that it was a very good pass. -
I'm a failure as a model a cow...I should have known that if I weren't soo worried about turning..24 next week....
Perspective people. -
We'll never make 700 posts this way, Stringer.
Look...
"I dunno. Henne got lucky on that pass. Actually, his mechanics sucked on it and he was lucky it got there. Also, if he'd thrown it a bit earlier it would have been better. He almost let the DBs catch up because he hesitated. I'm not sure about Henne. He can;t even throw a TD pass right. He made Hartline fall down."
To have a proper argument to sustain over 700 posts you're gonna need to start being more contrary, my man.
Maybe this'll help:

anyways, sorry back on topic, HOW BOUT THAT THROW!!!!..lol..
What impressed me most and gives me some optimism that hes ready for this tremendous battle ahead, is that he did something about his feet, his speed of motion, which comes from getting his body into great shape..2 years ago people scoffed at me when I said he was not in good shape when he came into this league..
Good job Chad..
Aslo, I like how the world of dolphin land was coming down on him in a preseason game, the pressure was unbearable, and he proceeded to make 3 consecutive good plays. He evaded the free blitzer and rolled out while keeping those eyes downfield while being accurate with the football, then the scamble for a first down, then the bomb to Hartline..
Add our 2 MOST explosive playmakers who are in phenominal condition to the equation, and I think the kid has the toughness to come thru all the unjust BS he is going thru.GMJohnson and ToddsPhins like this. -

i'm not taking away from the poor decision to throw to Bess, but in the grand scheme of things (when comparing Henne to last year) I personally believe the positive things Chad did and the "apparent" improvements he made over last season (deep ball, better feet, more athletic, improved pocket presence, and improved leadership) far exceed the miscommunication and subsequent bad throw to Bess and the slightly off target but catchable pass to Fasano while Chad's delivery was impeded.
I think the important thing that should be highlighted is Henne's overall play seems to have improved. I can't be disappointed with that at this juncture with all things considered.djphinfan likes this.
