everything he said is true. what. are you going to quibble with 95%. then do your own research. he at least watches games instead of box scores. he had more acute nfl observations in his one post then you have had in all your posts combined over the last month. substitute "most of the time" for 95% if it makes you feel better
Everything? You sure about that? Let me try. 2014 Air yards 51.4%. YAC 48.6%. 2015 Air yards 53.9%. YAC 46.1%. So, last year Tannehill had more YAC for his passing yardage than this year. The argument he had none last year is categorically wrong. Wallace Landry Miller and Hartline combined for more YAC as a % of Tannehill's yards than the group this year.
I love how you give out random figures at your discretion and then proceed to make up claims after you're called out on it like "he had more acute observations in his one post then you have had in all your posts combined over the last month." How do you come up with this stuff? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
he may have misspoke when using year when he intended to say since week five. to me there are two seasons and two diametrically opposed offenses to judge. One has Albert, Pouncey and James all starting. The other has at least one of them missing. compare the YAC when those three start to when they are out
football outsiders has dalton as the best QB in the league according to their qbr rating, brady is 5th, fitzpatrick is 4th. according to their dyar rating cousins is the 6th best qb and fitzpatrick 8th and hoyer 10th. why would anyone use their ratings to judge a QB lol
its you guys who want to constantly trash his stats by incorporating a substandard offensive line into them. those of us who watch games realize the crap he works with isnt going to produce numbers but when he is given just a mediocre line he can light it up as evidenced by the injuries to albert and james this year. albert goes out, offense tanks, albert comes back offense thrives, james goes out offense tanks. cause and effect, cause and effect. once you understand the importance of 3/5 the game will become much clearer and i understand that sounds obnoxious but you and the others dont give enough importance to the oline. its the flaw in your arguments. until you understand the importance of the oline you will not be able to have justifiable expectations for a qb
Their ratings aren't saying Dalton is the best QB, but he's had the best individual QB performance when they isolate his numbers. They take into account strength of opponent (which is what dinged Tannehill by getting his numbers against Houston) percentage of air yards vs yac, etc. Andy Dalton has been playing OUT OF HIS MIND. Doesn't mean they would rank him #1. Nobody is taking Dalton over Brady or Rodgers. Not even them. But based on what they think his performance has been so far. What Tannehill did was awesome but it wasn't hard technically. 10 out of 19 completions were at or behind the LOS. Those are easier throws than 30 yards in the air. Those are Matt Flynn throws. Those are Alex Smith throws who also had a perfect record with stats that line up similarly to what Tanny did last week. That is putting a perfect QB rating in perspective. Alex Smith is dinged too because they were dumpoffs to Jamaal Charles. So when you try and isolate the performance it's not knocking Tannehill. He completed 19 passes and the team put 41 points in one half. That is perfect execution. But those performances are hard to reproduce. It's like a WR who is wide open on a busted coverage and catches a 60 yard TD pass, vs someone who beat Revis or Sherman for a 60 yard TD pass. Both same result, both good, but one is more impressive.
everything he said was right. i understood what he meant and i'm pretty sure 75% of the people here did too. so hoyer is the 10th best qb in the league and fitzpatrick 8th and cousins 6th? and hasselbeck is better than luck right? just waiting for your deflection
from a pure football sense, one is not more impressive than the other. from an excitement point of view then one is more exciting. from a football sense the offensive coordinator scored a knockout by dialing up that play. it wont excite 99% of the fans
Yes one is. Blown coverages are rare. Beating Revis or Sherman is much more impressive. That means you can essentially beat anyone in the NFL.
i would rather have a blown coverage. it means your offensive coordinator is confusing the hell out of the secondary. you beat revis once it doesnt mean your going to beat him again. but when you start seeing blown coverages it usually means you have the defense on their heels and you will get more big plays until they adjust
you mean the last year the dolphins had a good offensive line (long, smiley, satele, carey?) hell we had the wildcat that year that took pennington off the field
ok, i see where your coming from..just make the oline good and we have found our franchise qb..playing the way he does..
if it wasnt for pennigton we wouldnt of won jack sh^^ and you know it Prez..the dude forced the whole team to play with a heightened sense of awareness, even under pressure, even under extreme conditions.
same can be said of the oline. pennington without an oline was worse than tannehill without an oline. remember he was a brittle shrimp of a person. same with the RBs since we were primarily a running team back then. there's eleven people on a side. no one is so great that they can take on eleven defensive players by themselves. you have eleven matchups on every play you better win more than half of them if you want to gain yards
yeah pretty much. its a lousy two players we need. another tackle that can step in for albert or james if they get dinged and another guard who can hopefully also step in at center if pouncey gets dinged. seriously, if tannenbaum cant provide that next year he should be shown the door
I'm curious as to what your definition of a franchise QB is. The term originated as being a QB you could build a franchise around so if Tannehill can win you a superbowl by building a franchise around him he is the very definition of a Franchise QB.
