Hey guys. I've decided that I won't be logging into this forum anymore because I can no longer handle the negativity. It's not any one person (or group of people) in general, I just hate that every topic becomes a drag-out argument with name calling and bruised egos.

Maybe I'm just too old for that at 50, I'm not sure, but logging on over the past few seasons has been less and less exciting for me. Since Galant left last year and all the rules on being civil went out the window, I just don't have the energy for it anymore.

I do want to thank each of you though for making this community what it is- even in it's current condition. We've had a lot of great seasons together and plenty of great memories from the Wildcat to Pennington, Tannehill, and Tua. Lots of ups and down moments, for sure, and I thank you for making those seasons all the more memorable.

A final piece of advice- remember that we're all Fin fans and it's okay to disagree. Tua's elite...Tua sucks...you can take either side of the fence respectfully, because at the end of the day our opinions won't put a single point on the scoreboard or lead to an additional sack. We're here for the excitement, the thrill of the hunt in a new season, and that's something that should bring all of us together...not apart.

Good luck to each and every one of you- I've really enjoyed the ride!

Sad to hear that, but understand. Maybe you'll change your mind if we become a true contender. Much of the negativity should naturally go away. But in general, you just need to care less about what people say. Some people can do that, some people can't and it gets to them.

Don't let the negative posters get the best of you. This is the highlight of their days.

In the meantime, there is an ignore function to filter it out.

You should start a group chat with dudes here that you like their posts, and have your own Club type string thread going. Talk about whatever you want, and it's cool. That's what me and a couple guys are doing on here. It's pretty enjoyable instead of getting frustrated in the mains.

It'll be better. But that's NOT the same, right? :chuckle:

Probably one of the most knowledgeable posters on this forum about the actual game. Also one of the more reasonable ones. I'm right there with you. I may just have to see myself out as well. Posters like Destroyer, PumpDogs, Canez, now the new Crash etc...These guys are terrible to deal with every year. Downright awful, insulting, trolls. Can't stand em. I've tried to use the ignore function, but they seem to dominate the topics with their regurgitated BS. I pretty much outta here too at this point. I came here because I love the Miami Dolphins and the vibe here is anything but that.

Peace out, KeyFin. I hope you'll reconsider but I only log in about once a week (or less) since the season ended. That's not likely to end before the run up to the draft. So, I don't blame you. God bless you and don't let somebody steal your joy.

I'm sorry to see you go, man. My advice for everyone is that if a few people are causing you do be frustrated, just put them on ignore. I've taken two month-long vacations away from the board in the past few years because of being upset, and just making it so that I can't see what a handful of people are saying makes all the difference in the world. Truly, I wouldn't still be here without the ignore button.

It really isn't any one person because honestly, I'm one of the few that get along with everyone here...even if I fiercely disagree with them. I genuinely like everyone except for a very small handful of people and I blocked them long ago.

If you go through the first page of the main board, it dates back about a month. Almost every single one of them devolve into name-calling within the first 10-15 posts. Then it's game on and no longer about football at all, the arguments linger on page after page after page...it's exhausting, LOL. Everyone should be able to share their opinion here freely, without someone else blowing a gasket.

This past year has been tough on me- going through a divorce, kid/wife with mental health problems, and we're about to sell our home. For me, it's a time of fresh beginnings and this is by far the most negative thing in my life. I work all week, go to church, volunteer with a Christian organization, watch a game, and then hop on here to tell everyone to stop picking on Resnor, or Brad, or whoever so we can talk football.

I love you guys, I really do. But my life is rapidly changing and the bickering really gets to me. There's more important things in life than getting mad at some random person on a football forum...I promise there is!

Hope you don't go man. Just have a rest and come back for the draft or the pre-season. I know what you mean though, I just dipped into the Tua thread and it's still going on...and on...and on... and on...etc. Someone has even started eulogising Tannehill. It's the equivalent of Godwins Law on here, I suppose LOL. I got back out of there sharpish before anyone noticed me.

Point taken. I appreciate this opinion. I see where you're coming from with this. Believe me I've been a fan of this team since 1990. The frustration is real. People say we were spoiled by Dan Marino. Thing is, it's going on a quarter of a century since Marino last played for us and we still have yet to find a Quarterback that comes close to doing the things he did for us. Yeah, I realize there's only ever going to be one Marino, but we've done our time. We've paid our dues as far as not having a viable option for this team at the position. I can't disagree with your post at all.

Ok, I'm done trying to argue with you about who did what to whom. I watched you bring politics into the forum a number of times and I think that is completely unnecessary to do. "Only a Demucrat wud like Tua" I've seen you write things similar to that. I'm sorry, but I don't think political agendas belong on a Miami Dolphins football forum. You know nothing about me aside from what I share on this forum which is strictly related to this football team. I'd appreciate it if we kept it civil from here on out. As a person who frequents sports forums, I'm trying my best to improve my content along with how I conduct myself. That's a personal goal of mine.

Now here's the thing...Let's take this to a face-to-face setting. If I was sitting next to you at a Miami Dolphins game, or anyone on this forum for that matter. I do not doubt that it would be a collective brotherhood amongst us. I would be high fiving with you, we would celebrate together in victory and we would suffer together in defeat. We would have cohesion as fans of this franchise. I would see you rockin' a Dolphins hat in a grocery store and despite you being a complete stranger, I would talk to you, we would vent or celebrate, wish each other well, and move on (unless you're just some insufferable douche which I don't think you are). That is why I came to this forum. Because I love Miami Dolphins football. I've been to two Miami games during my lifetime. One time was in celebration up in Nashville when we beat the brakes off of the Titans under our new leader Dan Campbell. Celebrating with those Dolphin fans (who were complete strangers to me) was nothing short of a feeling of extended family during those moments.
The other game I went to was on a MNF game against the Panthers about six-seven years ago and we got throttled by those CarolinaD1ckbags in their stadium. Jay Cutler was AWFUL that night! I drove four hours from East TN to watch us get humiliated on live TV. It was one of the worst experiences of my life as a fan of this team! Carolina fans were pointing at my Cameron Wake jersey and laughing at me! Thankfully, there were other Dolphin fans there, and again...We were able to vent to each other, we banded together as losers for the night and it made it better. Complete stranger Miami fans were like "Hey man, sorry we didn't get it done tonight dude." We collectively had a laugh about how Cutler had to go! We collectively had a positive feeling about Kenyan Drake, we were homies, and despite the ***-whooping we took, I took comfort in knowing that I wasn't alone.

Now, with all this being said...I'm going to make peace with you right now on my part. I never once came here to fight and argue with people who are following the same team that I follow. We are all out for the same goal and that is to win games. Now who and how we do it is of course debatable, but I promise to do my best to not throw any more shade toward you or any other poster on here that I have disagreed with. I will do better in that regard because, at the end of the day, I wouldn't wish a single ounce of harm to anyone on this forum. If we were in a live setting at a game, you better believe that I'd have your back because we are ultimately seeking the same results.

See ya around...Hopefully next season ends better than this one did. Nothing but respect from me.

I read a really good article the other day ranking all the current NFL GM’s. They didn’t use the last draft, but all before that. The main criteria was picks that were starters, busts, 2nd stringers, where they were picked, and if they were still in the team. Then they used FA signings and salary cap as the other two criteria’s.
Believe it or not, Grier is about average. He doesn’t hit or miss any more or less than most. He went down a little in FA signings and price tags, but some really good GM’s who had teams in “win now” mode also dropped a little due to those things.
I think a lot of people look at Ozzie Newsome as some sort of bar instead of a unicorn. It’s the same mentality when people use Mahomes as their comparison as to whether or not a QB is good or not. in reality, Ozzie and Mahomes don't come around very often and getting that type of production is very rare.

Absolutely. Although I'm down at the moment, there's been amazing changes in my life and I truly feel blessed. That's a big part of why I've tried to play peacekeeper here for the past 3 or 4 months, life is just too darn short to hate on someone over trivial disagreements. We should all be better than that and this should be a brotherhood...not Fight Club.

And for the record, LOL, I told my brother off something fierce a few days ago. He kind of bucked up on me and argued back, but I reminded him that I loved him and I wasn't angry. That's what brothers do...they fight and bicker all the darn time...but at the end of the day they're still brothers.

Teams with average GM’s are in the playoffs and have won SB’s. An objective look at the Dolphins talent would see that there is a lot of it. Grier has made mistakes, as all GM’s have, but he’s drafted/signed talented players. I guess my point is, expecting Grier to coach and play isn’t realistic. He’s had a hand in some of these failed coaching hires, but Gase, for example, was a hot commodity when he hired him. Fangio is an all time great. McD seems to be working out. No one scooped up Campbell for a HC when he left. It took him about 8 more years to get a HC job. The thing that’s hurt Grier the most has been instability, injuries, and winning just enough in his early years to not have high enough high picks for a QB. Not to mention Ross going after Brady and losing a 1st round pick. If you look just at the drafts he’s been in charge of (look after Ireland), he’s been pretty good.

A lot of the fighting stems from people wanting to be right about past takes and an inability to move on from them.

Also I am still salty about how it ended but I am glad I enjoyed when things were going well. You need to rethink your sundays if you spend the entire season telling any Dolphin fan you can "actually they suck" all so you can end it all with "see? can't believe you didn't realize they suck". How unbelievably annoying.
