I am not happy that we have not "Unleashed The Henne." I have seen many young QBs restricted in their play to limit mistakes. Almost all seem to take different time frames to get to "gambling" down field, with any degree of success. Some of this is due to surrounding talent, as well as the offensive scheme of the team.
I don't know how things look in practice but, we do all see that Henne and the WR's are making many mistakes, more than we would like without gambling. He and Marshall have not shown that chemistry we see with a number of others, and Hartline & Bess are only in their second year.
Is Henne just not ready to be unleashed or, are the restrictions causing him to think too much, and causing some of the mistakes? Chicken or Egg question.

What would be somewhat fun to see from Henne is whether his knee issue would mean he has to line up in the shotgun and learn how play from it.

Their just going to have to accept the good with the bad. If it means that Henne is going to make mistakes and has interceptions in the learning process then so be it. You hate to see a young guy thrown under the bus but if it means he learns from it and develops a chemistry with his receivers then its worth it IMHO.

I am looking around the league, and I see sanchez, freeman, even bradford looking better than him.
Hell if you think about it he really wasn't that great in college either and he was a 4 year starter.Sanchez only started 1 year in college and he playing light years ahead of henne.
Right now we have the worst qb in the division.I was hoping before the season he would be the 2nd best behind brady. -

not surre if there is anything to unleash just yet. henne does some things well but he doesnt really do anything great. he has a great arm but isnt that accurate on the deep throws which are already low percentage to begin with. his strength seems to be the intermediate game but since every team is playing zone coverage against us Henne isnt as dangerous as you would want there either. I think we have to be somewhat patient with him and just look to continue developing him. Maybe next year is the year we get to "unleash henne"

Everybody says how the refs cost us the steelers game but if we our honest with ourselves henne had the ball in his hands down by 1 point with over 2 mintues to go and couldn't even get a ****ing first down.
I hate sanchez and thought henne was going to be better than him but I have to give the devil his due. -
GMJohnson likes this.

To say Henne "wasnt that great" in college is kind of a strange statement, considering he set all kinds of records at the school for passing stats, and was a 4 year starter at one of the bigtime college schools running a pro styled offense. In that offense, he completed 59.7% of his passes, for 9715 yards, with a TD/INT ratio of 87TD to 37 Int's. Thats pretty damn good if you ask me. Sure he had troubles against OSU, but more often than not in his 4 years at Michigan, OSU was the far better team IMO. Thats coming from me, a Michigan fan. -

I can't penalize sanchez for making the most out of weapons three staright comebacks is all you can ask for.Thats what seperates the good from the great, not that I am saying he great yet.
I was at the buffalo game and I could see marshall open numerous times down the field and henne did not even look his way.I can't speak for the other games because you can only see so much on tv but maybe he doesn't see the field like sanchez does or he is to scared to throw it down the field.
What I don't get is all the excuses for this guy. Josh freeman 14 tds-5 ints sam bradford 14 tds-9 ints. I don't want to get into flacco and ryan.It seems almost every young starting qb has better numbers than this guy.I just think there is something missing from this guy he just doesn't seem to have the confidence or moxy these other qbs have.
As for the college comment you are right the numbers don't lie.
