Pennington has to be savvy.......mostly because how limited he is in arm strength and velocity. There's places on the field that he just has no business throwing the ball to and he knows it. It limits his mistakes.......and the offense I saw Henne making throws last year that showed exactly what Penny lacks...... (if Pennington could do what Henne can physically, he would have been as good as anyone in the league) Oh and IMO, Penny is pretty much spent. He'd make a good back up/mentor but other than that, if he wins the starting job, he's a stop gap. A stop gap right now makes no sense. Neither does giving up on Henne so prematurely....it's not like he washed out last year. He was a game better than .500 and 4-2 in the division. Facing a hell of a schedule..... The draft can't get here soon enough........you've got too much time on your hands to sit there and over analyze stuff, pads
Bro you don't know the half, 25 days until the NFL draft, then a week until the CFL draft, right now I'm rereading Asian works of philosophy. I don't think Penny is done, imho he could still start in the NFL, and imho he is here to put a foot in Henne's backside for some of the dummy decisions he made last yr. Pennington is really good trade bait JS, especially if shows his arm is back to "below average" from "nuclear meltdown". Dude is sharp, and a winner.
I was excited to see we picked him up last year, and wished we saw a little more of him during Ronnie's injury time. I saw him run on PSU a few times and always liked his style.
I really don't think Penny will garner much in trade.....and I think most will only be interested in Thigpen. And for the right price, I'd deff listen
Lets hope Sheets develops into something, if we don't draft a RB we'll know the FO has some hope for this kid.
