Pretty good article. Thank you. It gives hope that lazy players, with proper focus and support, can indeed change their work habits and attitude.
This quote says a lot. Ferguson describes Soliai as "a totally different guy" from last season, adding Soliai wants to put in extra work and is eager to learn. "He wants [playing time] and he's pushing me," Ferguson said, noting it's important to himself, as well as the coaches, that Soliai continues to develop. "Because if I'm going out [of the game], guys aren't looking at me like, 'What are you doing over here [on the sideline]?' They're going, 'OK, we've got big Paul in. We're good.'"
If anybody can change someones attitude and work ethic this group can. Soliai's development would remove a question mark behind ferguson and take away a fear of what we might do if Ferguson gets injured. At least Soliai is learning behind a good one in Ferguson.
I don't think "Lazy" is accurate brother. I think it is both cultural (Perhaps "Kicked back" would be accurate) as well as the fact its largely Paul size that has gotten him this far. Regardless, its good to hear he has a new "Zest" for the game. He along with McDaniel are going to be HUGE keys to our success. We all know Fergie is good for maybe 70% of the snaps, if even that many. Great article
NT has worked out better than I had anticipated it would still see it as a high draft or free agency acquisition in 2010
