Remember when NBA coverage was good? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKOkNZ4Yzto Anyone? Remember when the NBA on NBC was THE theme for the NBA and not the garbage that ABC/ESPN/Disney has now? Thank god TNT is holding the fort until ESPN's contract ends in 2016
its not that they can't get them right, but they aren't unbiased. Joey Crawford has to be the absolute worst!
I am not as much talking about the quality of the league itself (which is in question also) but the network coverage of the NBA. ABC/ESPN is just pathetic. They care more about promoting themselves and their loudmouth "experts" than the players themselves. The NBA on NBC IS the NBA we grew up on. That music lasted for over 10 years for a reason. ESPN reminds me of EA Sports in games. Every sport they touch they ruin (Monday Night Football, NBA, Golf). TNT's coverage is awesome though. Better pregame/postgame show and better announcers. Marv Albert, Kevin Harlan, and Dick Stockton are great.
All ABC does is promote their crappy tv shows like Desperate Housewives. NBC imited their promoting. I miss those days. I mean, 2/3s of the game is now commercials.
Well the equivalent to UPN's old coverage is on SUN sports now. Eric Reid IS the voice of the Miami heat. I always choose Sun's coverage over ESPN/ABC.
Wait, did you just say that Kevin Harlan was great? Are we watching the same guy? The Kevin Harlan I know treats every play like it's game 7 of the NBA Finals, thus blatantly stealing Brent Musberger's act, only adding about 40 decibels to it? Sadly, this is the downside of the escalating price of TV contracts.
I always watch the Heat broadcast over any national one. Really loved it when it was Fratello/Reid. Great combo.
Yes, I just said that Kevin Harlan is great, because he is. I can't believe you compared Kevin Harlin to Musberger, the most overrated announcer in this planet. They are not even close. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KfZDt5cfZ8
