It has been said that the reason for the change is to find out if the problem is Henning or Henne. I understand this move but, do not agree with it. It "might" be in the best interest of the team's playoff chances this season. The "Powers That Be" have seen Penny and Henne each for over a year in Henning's system. If they now need to change QB's to decide what the problem is, we NEED different evaluators. For me, I believe it came down to Penny over Henne, and keeping Henning's system or, Lee over Henning, and opening up Henne. Very TUFF choice half way through the season. I think we took the easier of the two. Here's hoping it works out for our team.
Too many weapons on offense to only have 8 passing TD's SB, not 8 games into the season. As for evaluations, young Qb's are impossible to tell with, great one week, terrible the next, it is what it is.
Padre, My point is that if Penny is great in Hennings system, what does that really tell us about Henne, with the extreme restraints? You know that Penny is gonna be under a whole different set of guidelines.
a penny for Pennington's thoughts anybody? "But now, it's time to roll," Pennington said. "It's time to focus on winning a football game." & I agree
haha you got what you wanted but at what cost. And what happens if we still lose. There will be alot of people telling you I told you so.
I have to think that Penny feels a little awkward to be put in this position, as do many of the players. Anyone thinking what they may be thinking? Will they be split on this decision?
Quite frankly, Sparano panicked. John Clayton got it right in his chat today He also says that Cowher to Miami is a real possibility. After today, I am fully on board with that.
Let's count the weapons. Brandon Marshall, Davone Bess....Jake Long. But if we succeed, I'll be right there cheering because none of this comes down to decisions made by players. This is the FO's choice and they made it. Now it's time for the players to respond. GO PHINS!
Usually I agree, but that observation was imo 100% correct. Panic knee jerk reaction by a coach that is getting overwhelmed. This looks bad.
you stuck with your guns and were vindicated good job now we see if you were right in penny being the best option for wins.
I want to win games & go to post season & Pennington gives us the best chance to do exactly that... should have benched Henne game four & we'd already be a contender
I have no problem with legitimate criticism at this point in our season it will be difficult to jump-start the offense but if anyone can do it, Pennington can will anyone congratulate me if the offense runs better? only sure-thing is Henne is not the answer, it is what it is... he can't get the job done. very simply play the QB that gives us the best chance to win Pennington
