Look at it this way, Vontae really stepped up against a elite WR. I'm getting more faith in him every game. He's no healthy Darrelle Revis, but atleast he's getting closer.
it was a statement game. sadly the statement was lost amidst the crashing thud of the rest of the team
Vontaes a stud, and i disagree with your statement that he's no darelle revis. Revis has already been beat for a td this season, thus so far this season, Vontae has been better. Now that ive said that, Vontae got quite lucky that Moss dropped that fake spike td. VD didn't stop that play, Moss just didn't make it.
Even as a 'Phins Fan, he's no Revis. And I stressed Healthy Revis. No one is better then him at what he does, and he proved it last year. With that said, Vontae can get to that upper echelon or CB's this year. The question is can we get him the help he needs to keep him consistent. If he has to help and focus alot on the run game, it's going to hurt his primary focus, which is shutting down receivers. I was atleast happy today he was shifting sides of the field, I heard that it isn't somethign they like to see him do. I see Revis, Davis, and the Raiders CB (Nmdani Asminuah?) as the AFC Pro Bowl Corners this year.
I disagree, Vontae played Moss well. Stride for stride forcing him to the sideline. Because vontae didnt take the play off and was not fooled on the fake spike, this caused Brady to throw the ball to his left shoulder and a bit off out of bounds. I think Vontae was just as important in that stop as Moss not catching it and Brady not on target.
If this coaching staff can get their head out of their collective asses.....we are still a team that could get in the playoffs.... Two things have to change. Henning has to stop STOP with his BS. On 3-6 early in the game...he calls a run. What? Or the Wildcat call.... Special teams....Bon a whatshis name...buh by. Sparano is the head coach. Its his job to fix that part. If he doesnt, and this season is lost..... He might be sleeping with da fishes if you know what I mean....
yeah vontae looked good again, but that drop by moss would have been a TD and it was a bad drop for his standards, still i like how davis is doing
unfortunately he isn't the only reciever on the patriots team.they didn't need to throw to moss.2 guys under 5'8(welker,woodhead) and a rookie t.e beat our defense like an old rug. but yes thinking positively davis had a great game and wake..wow what a beast he is turning out to be.it is a shame wakes name was the only one being called on defense for anything positive.karlos,misi,soalai,starks,j.allen..nobody else(cept maybe bell) showed up last night.
41-14 ***-whooping. At home. On Monday night. Against a divisional rival. In as close to a must-win game as you can get in Week 4. Eff the positives.
