    1. Instead of signing Melvin Gordon... I suggest we trade for Stephon Diggs.

Diggs is signed for 4 years... to a very reasonable contract.
Diggs is a top 5 wideout in the NFL... Elite deep threat.

So What would it take to get Diggs... Maybe a second-round pick this year and a couple of picks next year...(second, 4th ) The Dolphins are one of the teams loaded with picks in the next couple of drafts to make this happen.

So as to not deplete this draft and the picks we have at the top here is the second part of my idea.

    2. Trade for Gurley.

Gurley is overpaid and the Rams want out. So make the deal where we give them a low-level pick and eat his salary and get a second-round pick in return... ( Which we can ship to Minnesota for Diggs.

We have the money to pay Gurley and Gurley is still better than Gordon even with his arthritic knee.

    This gives us

Williams Parker Diggs at receiver. ( We can finally get rid of Gator ) This gives Miami a top 5 wide receiver group in the NFL (IMHO)

At running back Gurley is a massive upgrade. Because we just signed a top guard... Our O line is already massively improved. In the Draft, I have to believe we will bring in one Tackle and a Center.

This does not cost us any picks this year in the draft. It costs us at most a second next year and a low-level pick. Diggs is worth more than two second round picks and throw ins all day long and twice on Sunday.

We have the money to spend and Gurley's contract goes away in 2 years so that gives us two years to find and groom our next workhorse running back.

Please, please make this happen flying spaghetti monster

    My thoughts are:

If they didn't make a deal to get Hopkins, I don't expect them going after Diggs. Honestly, it is shocking to know that we coulda got Nuke by simply just giving the Texans their first round pick back. He is the best WR in football.

I want nothing to do with Gurley. That contract is MASSIVE, and his knees are shot. Honestly, at this point, Gordon is a far better option. I really don't even see the need to sign Gordon. We have so many picks. I feel extremely confident that we can a RB. I say we sign a guy like Jordan Howard on the cheap.

Gurley is still better than Gordon

Gurley had nearly 1100 yards last season and 14 touchdowns.

Jesus... Even at that lower rate of production The Dolphins would be insane not to take it

No interest in Gurley's overpaid contract and dying knee.

Diggs for a lesser package than Hopkins got wouldn't be a bad idea though.

I actually think we need a slot WR who is an adept route runner more than a top WR who is a deep threat. I believe Diggs took something like 15% of snaps from the slot.

I know Preston had some drops this year and I was harsh on him, but I'd really like to see how he rebounds this year before spending money on a perimeter WR.

Remember we dont have to build a super team this season. We can strategically attack positions we dont have young talent at this year and give the young guys we have a chance to blossom.

Amari Cooper signed 5 years 100 million... eh this is a deep receiver draft... i rather get one of those receivers and then pay them 5 years from now if they amount to something

I agree on drafting a receiver over paying one 20 million

The thing about Diggs is that he was locked in for the next 4 years at 14 million which is a steal because he is Better than Amari Cooper and so much Cheaper.

Gurley would be a quality addition only if the Rams have to send us compensation to take him off their hands. If we're giving up value for him, I don't like it.

That said, I would love to see a pass-catching Gurley in a committee backfield with, say, Jonathan Taylor or J.K. Dobbins. He's still a good football player; his knees just can't keep up with full workhorse duties.

2020 7th for Gurley and a 2020 4th would be enough for me.

I was thinking we give up a 6th and a 7th for Gurley and get the Rams second round pick... It is a clear salary Dump for them and they would have to compensate us.

We have the money to pay him.... If we need to create cap space we can cut someone Like Wilson on the offense and trim what 9 and a half million off the cap I think

I'd be tempted with that, I think. Always loved Gurley but I'd be just a tad cautious because of his dodgy knees. It's doable though.
