Interesting idea. It would give us the first half of the season to evaluate Thigpen and White and deal off whoever we saw fit by the trade deadline. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/06/10/chad-pennington-could-be-headed-for-pup-list/
I just dont think its worth keeping all of them, let the best three make the roster and itll be the best thing for the team.
Well, we shall see, that requires Penny to sit out all practices and the way the timing works, the PUP disallows trading a player who is on the 6 week version of the PUP.
I'm thinking more along the lines of trading Thigpen or White as by Week 6 the injury bug will have hit a lot of teams forcing their hands.
Problem with that is most NFL offenses have playbooks as thick as phone books, which makes trading for a Qb inseason a sort of non starter. They did trade for Thiggy inseason, but he was more of an insurance policy and it took 3 Qb's being injured to allow him any playing time at all.
White has no trade value. Thigpen does but that is our best option as a #2. Pennington's arm is a ghost. We don't know if it is there or not. They want Penny as a mentor but you put him on PUP he won't be on the sideline.
