Not losing any sleep over this, but in all honesty, I would rather see Cobbs return than Hilliard. Looks like it will be the opposite. Oh well. Just gives us another roster space on offense to bring in a playmaker.

I think you draft a Johnny White, or better yet you don't even draft him you just sign him as a UDFA, and you've replaced Pat Cobbs.

Cobbs wasnt the same after injury.

Never looked like he was fully recovered. Shame too, because he's the type of player you need. Pretty versatile and would never make mistakes.

Just never went for his game, a scat back with no scat, a Special Teams Captain on a terrible special teams unit, wish him well though, would not surprise if he landed in New England to take Sammy Morris' old role.USArmyFinFan likes this. -
I thought he was underated until Tony discovered him Therafter he took the third down possesion opportunities away from Ronnie Brown who is a much more talented player.
Its not his fault that Tony doesnt know how to evaluate offensive players.Cobbs is at best a change of pace back and a good STs player IMO.Someone will pick him up -

Not tendering him, doesn't mean we won't resign him. Why the hate for the guy? It's not his fault he was thrown into a role not suited for him. I'd like to see him resigned. He's a great team guy, a Captain, a good STs contributor, and a solid contributor n offense. I think he'll be much better this year given the fact he's two years removed from the knee injury now. Do I want him getting significant carries? No, but he's got a role and he does it well.

I like Cobbs a lot, but his physical ability wasn't great and he didn't have much left as a rusher after his knee injury. He was pretty good as a slot receiver, but it's kind of weird role to be leaving him at, and there are some pretty good 3rd down back options on the market this year.
