Peyton Manning is anything but dink and dunk but he gets it out faster than Brady.

Better than most QBs in the league, but not franchise? I suppose you could argue that he's not "elite," but if you're in the 10-12 range for QBs, then he's a franchise QB.

I disagree, what number QB you are in the league doesn't make you a franchise QB, play does, sometimes there's only 6 franchise QBs in the league, and sometimes there are 12, though thats rare imo, but my point being that there is no static number that makes you a franchise QB, it's the play of a QB that makes him franchise.

I would like it if Ryan would tuck it and run the ball downhill more. He's a former Receiver for cryin out loud, and it's a threat that's not being maximized. Just like to throw that out there.

when he starts to realize this is a whole new dimension, we will be more of a dangerous team with a better chance to win.

Everyone has a definition for Franchise. Just depends on which one you want to use that day ;)

Colin Kaep and Andy Dalton received franchise contracts. Dalton is playing up to it now. Colin has been shaky.

Right now, you can win with Tannehill. But he's not a QB that can carry a team when the other parts are failing. But that's okay. Those QBs are rare. Very rare.

Suh and Tannehill are not over rated. They are both "franchise" players at their positions. Some just aren't as good as others at recognizing talent. Hide behind semantics all you want, we all know who the real Tannehill believers are.

Man, all last night and today. all over the sports stations, all they are talking about is how Tanne got those crazy numbers last week off the short dump offs and YAC. Weird.

Huh? I just said he's a franchise QB.

You're awfully defensive. Not confident in your positions?

More about Finster lol. Just saying, don't say Tannehill isn't a franchise QB, and then talk about how he's better than most QB's in the league, that's back tracking. Make your claim and stick with it.

What backtracking, that has been my stance on Tanne since last year, I don't think he's a franchise QB, what is the big deal, if you do fine, we disagree, but you seem to be offended because I have a different opinion than you.

When Tanne starts becoming the difference late in close games then I'll say he's franchise, until then he's just at the top of "the rest" of the QBs in the league, and that's my opinion, shared by the vast majority of experts who aren't Fin fans, because a franchise QB is a QB that can be the determining factor in close games, and so far, Tanne has come up small in those spots.

I think the more a team is willing to modify the rest of the roster to complement a given player's abilities, the more of a "franchise" player that player is for that team. So for me it's not some absolute level of ability the player has to have, nor is it ability relative to others at that position. It's the degree to which a team will build around that player.

Given the contract Tannehill received and the type of WR's we're signing/drafting, I think he's 3/4 or more of the way to being our franchise QB using the definition I gave. The only caveat is that his contract is structured so we can walk away with relatively little cap hit after 2016.

Tannehill is one of the best young QB's in the league. He is the very definition of a franchise QB, I completely disagree with your opinion. Just like how you think Suh is over rated, that's B.S too. Of course you're entitled to your opinion, but to think Tannehill is better than most QB's in the league, at his age, with his tools, and durability, and still think he isn't "franchise" material, is almost as dumb as thinking Suh is over rated. For example Luck is a franchise QB too, not just "better than most QB's in the league" lol. Do you even understand how much money Tannehill and Luck would command on the open market? That's the real definition of a "franchise QB", a QB teams want to build their franchise around.

So, the variables for evaluating are different for Kap than for Tannehill? Tannehill gets blasted and questioned, and he's been playing at a higher level than Kap. People are so much more willing to give a pass to QBs other than our own.

    I agree he's had a tough situation.

I dont res, I try and isolate as much as possible, I was just saying, that you commented how bad he was without including everything that is going against him..

this is what you did for ryan when he was playing poorly.

listening to david carr on nfl network, he said that if ryan can start making the throws downfield more consistenty, make smart decisions in crucial situational football times, and use his legs more, we could go all the way..

not that hes the end all be all in analysts, but he said it like he has watched and these are the things he needs to improve on...

all is good, from here til the end of the season it will be great to see if he can incoporate all elements of the position on a team that is gonna come to play every week..so far he's absolutely on the right path to do those things....except one...but ill be patient.

I like to debate, especially when people make ridiculous claims about the fins like Suh isn't a top 5 DT or Damian>Lamar. Watch and learn tonight  Sorry for being a d***, I'm just a super passionate fan and today is a huge day for me. Mo Fudgers call me fillet of fish at work, not after today lol.

Hey yutz, show me where I said he was done.

My distinct comments were that he's getting long in the tooth (33) and constantly hindered by little injuries the past few seasons. Those are valid concerns.

I love Wake like the rest of us, but hell I'll admit, after week 4, definitely thought his age was catching up. How could you not? That injury was obviously seriously slowing him down.

I had my doubts about Wake as well but the only saving grace was that hamstring injury. Wake is so dependent on that first step explosion that a hamstring injury is a big, big deal. Your hamstring is what allows you to explode that first step. Glad to see Wake making a huge impact again. Not sure how much longer he can keep up the elite play at his age but if anyone can do it, its Wake. That guy clearly takes care of his body.

Sigh, read what you wrote man.

You said to 1968 maybe it wasn't you of the you 3. That's not you saying it wasn't any of us, that's saying maybe it wasn't 1968 but (when paired with the everything you said before that post) it was likely the other 2. English is a hard language, I know.

Let's say I'm a cop and you, Rock & Finster are criminals. A jewelry store gets robbed and I'm convinced it was your gang (we'll call you the Chuckleheads in this purely hypothetical scenario). So i haul you in for questioning and interrogate you. I tell you repeatedly that the Chuckleheads did this crime. You plead your case that you didn't....so i say, "Ok maybe it wasn't you of the three of you in the Chucklehead gang."

So now....did I just say it wasn't you that did it or did I say it wasn't any member of the Chuckleheads?

Don't freak out and ***** and moan and insult me, really read this and think it through. Use this as a learning moment.

Well with James going down, we'll be able to determine if it was the playcalling or having 3/5s of an offensive line. Until or unless James comes back expect the offense to tank. Fox is as bad a rot as a lot

Did you watch and learn last night? Suh is overrated, going up against a patchwork line he didn't do much, and even when the rookie went out, no difference, he's a very good DT, but he's not dominant, and he's beyond overpaid.

You should do more listening, you might even learn something.

Yea, I was talking to you about it just prior to the season, after I watched a bunch of tape on Suh I was surprised to see that he was overrated, I had thought of him as a top 3, possibly best DT, when you just watch his highlights he looks like a world beater, but play to play he's not all that.

Going forward, him and his franchise QB contract are going to be big stumbling blocks.

I don't think Thill makes it through his guaranteed contract. It comes down to if the dolphins are in position to take a top QB in the draft over the next 2 years. Chances are they won't be but if they are it'd be wise to draft one and cut thill when his guaranteed money is off the books. We ll see what happens when Thill the rest of the year but after 3 1/2 years I think it's pretty obvious what we ve got here. Middle of the pack.

He was actually talking about Suh, but I agree on Tanne, 73 mil of his contract doesn't kick in until 2017, right now he's basically on a probationary 2 year 23 mil contract, so he's got the rest of this year and next year to prove he's worth it, but I agree that I think we are seeing what he is, and that's not a franchise QB.
