New Dolphins vice president Bill Parcells holds the No. 1 selection and his team has some glaring needs. Will Parcells begin his rebuilding project by taking a quarterback, addressing another position or trading out of the pick? Frank Coyle breaks down the needs for each team in the AFC East.

Head Coach: Tony Sparano (First Year)
Key needs: 1. Quarterback 2. Offensive tackle 3. Cornerback 4. Wide receiver 5. Outside linebacker

    1. QUARTERBACK: The Dolphins have struggled here since Dan Marino retired. They drafted John Beck last spring, and he saw limited action in a difficult rookie season. They could use the first overall pick on Matt Ryan, but they are hoping Atlanta or Kansas City trades up to the top spot to select the quarterback.

    2. OFFENSIVE TACKLE: The Dolphins have struggled in protection in recent seasons. They have Michigan's Jake Long as a high priority with the first overall pick. With two second-round picks, Boston College's Gosder Cherilus could be available early in the round and USC's Sam Baker later in the round.

    3. CORNERBACK: The Dolphins will look to add a starting corner in the early rounds, if the value is on the board. They like Kansas' Aqib Talib early in the second round. They also like Indiana's Tracy Porter, Iowa's Charles Godfrey and Penn State's Justin King in the third round. The Dolphins have little experience and marginal talent at this position.

    4. WIDE RECEIVER: Top pick Ted Ginn was slow to contribute last season. The Dolphins will look to address this area early and maybe at 32nd overall if Michigan State's Devin Thomas or Indiana's James Hardy is available.

    5. OUTSIDE LINEBACKER: This position becomes even more important if the Dolphins trade Jason Taylor. They like Auburn's Quentin Groves and Purdue's Cliff Avril with the 32nd pick as possible replacements - or as defenders on the opposite side. They like Georgia Tech's Darrell Robertson and Georgia's Marcus Howard

Agree with your positions and I can see what you're saying long term with OLB or if we trade JT but why dont you include ILB. On the surface, at least as of now, it would seem the ILB position needs an upgrade a little more than the OLB

eDIT: NEVERMIND. sEE ITS fRANK cOYLE

Lemmy from Motorhead!!! You rock!

I think Curtis Lofton, of Oklahoma, would be an ideal ILB.

 I think he should be our linebacker coach. Love Lofton
