Rodgers looked really good overall last night.... He showed some rust with timing and communication in the first half... Second half he was dealing. He made that touchdown run where he danced through like 3 or 4 tackles...(got called back on a penalty.) But seeing him move like that was a thing of beauty. If he plays like he played in the second half last night... We are not beating the Jets... Sorry tangent...
The Jets are worse than a dumpster fire. It’s a whole town of a riotous fire. Head coach fired GM’s contract ends at the end of the season. A 40 year old quarterback at the twilight of his career And now the owner may be tapped to be an ambassador Could it get any worse for them? I almost…ALMOST feel bad for them, but then of course I remember it’s the Jets. F ‘em!!!
Don't look now but, our Mighty Miami Dolphins are riding even lower than even the Jest and the Past. I can only hope that it's all part of some clandestine plot to snag Ward or Manning and not merely blatant incompetence. How else can you explain one of the biggest payrolls in the NFL getting comfortable at the bottom of the trash heap and nobody is getting fired. It defies logic.
I picked Buffalo in the picks due to the regular season record when these two face. Like you guys, can’t root for the Bills but can’t have another team go undefeated either.
Really? He’s going to call THAT the play of the year? I would say, “what a tool”, but a tool actually has a useful purpose.
So it is possible.... If Douglas can get canned, Why not Grier? Ross is the worst owner in pro sports.
Such a dumpster fire. People say Ross is a bad owner. he New York Jets are in the middle of a major organizational overhaul, and a new report shed some light on just how ugly things have gotten for the franchise in the last several months. Six weeks after they fired former head coach Robert Saleh, the Jets announced on Tuesday that they have parted ways with general manager Joe Douglas. According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the decision to fire Douglas was just the latest move in what has become a “messy, messy situation.” Breer previously reported that things have been “tenuous” in the Jets’ building. The feeling is that owner Woody Johnson has created an environment in New York that people within the organization do not feel is conducive to winning. Breer reiterated that on Tuesday and noted that there are people who work for the Jets who feel like Johnson pays too much attention to what is being said by non-football people on the internet. Johnson wants to win badly, which is why he signed off on the Jets acquiring Aaron Rodgers. It sounds like he might be meddling in football decisions and not giving enough trust to the people he has hired to handle that side of things. For what it’s worth, the recent U.S. presidential election could have a direct impact on Johnson’s role with the Jets. If things in New York have gotten as “messy” as Breer says, future head coach and general manager candidates might be more inclined to listen to what the team has to say if Johnson were to take a step back.
He should have retired and went out on top so to speak when he was in Green Bay. This is going to be a much sadder ending to his career than Favre's ending.
Jets gonna Jet: https://phinphanatic.com/miami-dolphins-fans-laugh-recent-new-york-jets-decision Maybe the last line will prove to be prophetic
Bills lose to the Rams while giving up 40+ points. Allen just isn’t good enough. He doesn’t do enough to win.
I believe the Bills are now 1-3 against teams over .500. Losses: Ravens, Houston, Rams Wins: KC Anyone criticizing them? The Dolphins are also 1-3. Losses: Bills x2, Packers Wins: Rams
If the Jets release Rodgers with a post-June 1 designation, they would incur $14M in dead cap in 2025 and $35M in 2026, per Spotrac. Despite the cap charges, expect New York to cut the QB. SNY's Connor Hughes recently reported the Jets "prefer to move on from Rodgers." Adams' future with the Jets is also uncertain. The 31-year-old will have the team's highest cap hit ($38.3M) in 2025. If he refuses to restructure his contract, bank on him playing elsewhere. When the Jets reunited the former Green Bay Packers tandem, they thought it would make them a Super Bowl contender. Instead, it has been a letdown.
Jets being Jets Dysfunctional teams indeed do dysfunctional things. The latest evidence of dysfunction within the New York Jets comes from TheAthletic.com. Among various juicy nuggets contained in the #longread is a claim that owner Woody Johnson nixed a trade with the Broncos for receiver Jerry Jeudy because Johnson believed Jeudy’s Madden rating was too low. Per the report, that wasn’t the only time Johnson cited Madden ratings in connection with football decisions. Johnson reportedly pushed back on signing guard John Simpson because his “awareness” rating on Madden was too low. (Maybe even lower than Woody’s.) The Madden factor apparently comes from Woody’s teenage sons, Brick and Jack. “When we’re discussing things, you’ll hear Woody cite something that Brick or Jack read online that’s being weighed equally against whatever opinion someone else in the department has,” an unnamed Jets executive told TheAthletic.com. The Jets actually provided a statement to TheAthletic.com acknowledging the involvement of the teens, and defending it. “It is used as a reference point; it is not determinative,” a Jets spokesperson said regarding Brick and Jack’s input. “It’s really sad that an adult would use a misleading anecdote about teenagers to make their father look bad. It’s ridiculous, quite honestly, the idea that this was used to influence the opinion of experienced executives. . . . [The sons] have no roles in the organization. It’s completely ridiculous to suggest that any outside info is intended to replace the opinions of [Woody Johnson’s] staff.” They might have no official role, but let’s face it. They eventually will. And one of them likely will inherit the team, unless Woody sells it. And even if there’s no official role for now, Brick was handing out a game ball after a rare victory. “It was the most awkward, cringe-worthy, brutal experience,” an unnamed player told TheAthletic.com. It feels like the Jets under Woody Johnson are constantly prompting that reaction.
And now this: The latest news about Johnson isn’t all fun and games, though, as it was also revealed that the Jets owner went off on former Jets quarterback Mike White two years ago. White was starting in place of much-maligned quarterback Zach Wilson in the Jets’ game against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 17 of the 2022 season with the team’s playoff hopes still alive. White, who was playing through broken ribs, recorded an ugly statline with 240 passing yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions. After the 23-6 loss, which eliminated the Jets from postseason contention, White threw his helmet in apparent frustration in the locker room. Johnson, who was also in the Jets’ locker room, reportedly said, “You should throw your helmet, you f---ing suck.” Johnson later apologized to White for his profane outburst
