Jim is just a very insecure person. He has to bash others and his "clones" that call him to try and prop himself up. I rarely listen to him anymore.

 

Rome is brutal, always has been. His pauses are so God Damn long, you often think you're radio has lost it's connection. And nobody, repeats himself as much as Rome.

 

I'll never forget when ESPN fired him the first time for his "Chris" Everett comments while interviewing LA Rams QB Jim Everett. Still a classic.

 

Rome is horrible. I'm curious as what Akin says. So maybe i'll set my tivo (oh starts in like3 minutes). I'm so happy I found other sports stations on AM radio in the morning.

he repeats himself so often you're right. he even goes on to say "look, i'm not going to say xxx) but then says it 10 times. So he gets to say somethign offensive, while trying to say he's above it.

and his slang is so lame.

 

Yeah the biggest thing that annoyed me before I just quit listening, period was how the guy would b**** about an e-mail being low class or unacceptable or something; make a big show of wadding up the paper right next to the microphone and then tell you what the e-mail said anyway. :no:
The whole thing was so pretentious.

 

Listened to his show only once, that was enough for me to never put him on my radio again. I don't care who he has on.

 

The show is hilarious.

He always has good guests. And he's a good interviewer.

 

i guess i'm one of the lucky ones... i've never heard Jim Rome.

He did on TBS for a little while. Not sure if they're still airing it though. He came down here to the Hard Rock a few months back and KILLED

 

Awww, I'll never forgive you for making me watch Rome for no reason!!!!!! Granted, it was on fast forward the whole time on my Tivo so I didn't have to listen to him at all, but I still had to look at his mug.

If you watch Rome today and compare him to two years or so ago, he's not as blatantly stupid.

Sure, he's still bombastic, but that's what got him there, he's not going to give that up.

I once said that Jim Rome was to sports what Jerry Springer was to talk shows; today, I would compare him more to Montel or Cristina.

 

I love Romey. I don't get to listen to the show nearly enough. Whenever I get a day off I listen. Dude is hilarious and is actually a great interviewer. He asks very good questions.

It's very simple with Jim....you either love him or hate him, there is no in between. I love the guy.

What I dislike about rome is that he talks a lot of crap about guys whose asses he proceeds to kiss when he meets/talks to them. He is a hypocrite who changes from smart mouth into a todaying sycophant in an instant... like the weaselly kid in school who'd insult you, but only if he was far enough that he could run away... if you got him in a room, he'd pretend to be your best buddy (this is probably a self-defense mechanism he developed after the Chris Everett thing).

That said, he is entertaining (unfortunately) and a good interviewer. He slags on and criticizes people too much, I think and i wish he were more positive (in attitude and in general, as a person) but he does have great skills as a media personality.

I flat out can't stand him. The guys an *** and hes annoying. I try to avoid his show but of course, the ESPN "geniuses" put him on the air.

 

i dont the show because the show is about the show. its funny at times but there is very little depth and is repetitive
