http://blog.seattlepi.com/digitaljoystick/archives/168594.asp Wow, if true I wonder how hard it would be for a hacker to tell a couple million consoles to go fry themselves?
i dont believe it for a few reasons... Why? It makes no sense? why add a kill switch to your product that could ruin your image forever? To stop hackers? Hacker hack no matter what.. Microsoft knows this better than most. Like posted above, it would just invite some hacker to kill all 360s to teach Microsoft a lesson. There is no payoff for such a dumbass move. Why do it just no not use it? And why risk it for no reason. Everything is money for Microsoft, and this move makes none.
Even if true, I don't see how that would stop anything. It doesn't cost anything to hack a 360 and consoles are getting cheaper. Mor is right that hackers are gonna hack and there is nothing Microsoft can do about it. Hell, I think they welcomed it with the original Xbox. I see so many features on the 360 that were available only for the hacked originals. They took notes and incorporated those features in the new console. (free beta testing if you will) If you know how to hack an Xbox, then you probably know how to avoid getting caught anyways. (Or you learn how not to get caught very quickly)
