Fun little chat from Rich Eisen Show. Take every NFL franchise and construct an all-time roster for each one. Which team wins the Superbowl? How would you construct the Dolphins' all time team and how far would they go? Here's the original video:
Bias in the sports media. The only undefeated team in the NFL, the first team to go to the Super Bowl 3 years consecutively, the virtual sole possession of the quarterback record book and the winningest head coach in NFL history and the Dolphins aren’t even mentioned? Offensively, you give me Csonka and Morris, Warfield, Moore, Clayton, Duper, Byers with an OL anchored with Webb, Simms, Little, Kuechenberg and Marino at the helm... Defensively, give me give me Wake, Taylor, Thomas, Cox, Buoniconti, Surtain, Madison,Anderson, Fernandez... And Shula as captain of THIS ship and we can all sit back and watch every other team in the NFL cry in their Cheerios as we whip their butts like a red headed stepchild
I think the problem in constructing an all time team is that football has changed so much. I honestly dont know how an offensive lineman from the 70s would block a pass rusher in 2020 for example. The techniques and positional skill sets have changed and evolved, the film work, everything. Certain players could play in any era but there are a lot of variables in choosing the team. Are the rules what they are now or what they were then, for example? How physical can corners be? These things matter.
