I switched over to watch Wipeout when the halftime show came on.

 

The NFL halftime shows have become increasingly boring and obscure (Prince anyone?), I can understand the Rolling Stones and even U2 (not fans of either), but Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Prince, etc were horrible. They don't appeal to the average NFL fan, instead it seemed like the NFL was trying too hard to expand their fanbase by grabbing the teenage girl and hornball guys that aren't regular NFL fans.

I never understood the Bruce Springsteen thing, never liked him.

 

I think you're mistakenly thinking that the average NFL viewer is like you... I don't know what the average NFL viewer is like, but I do know that I like Justin Timberlake as the halftime show LOL

I've never cared for Springsteen's music, but Pagan is right - he ROCKED THE ****ING HOUSE.

And I said this before, but however you feel about his music in general, Born to Run has to be one of the best rock songs ever.

 

I think the average NFL fan is a beer drinking middle aged guy that enjoys everything from country music to classic rock and maybe a few of the newer "big" bands. I don't think many NFL fans are into Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears.

As for me, I can't stand country music and most of the popular music out, I don't drink beer and I've hated every single SB halftime show. So I don't think they're like me, I just didn't think that anyone would say that they liked Justin Timberlake. :pointlol:

Meh, I think the NFL tries too hard to get the attention of the non-football viewers to boost ratings. I could understand McCartney because he has such a vast audience around the world, but I zoned out during that one as well.

 

Since the "Nipple Incident", the NFL has gone VERY soft with its halftime performers. Prince, Tom Petty and Springsteen are great... if the year is 1987.

 

not really a Springsteen fan myself, but i enjoyed it for what it was. to each his own, i guess.

as for most overrated pile of crap in music, that title is already taken by the Beatles, IMHO. but they were visionary; the world's first boy band, 30 years before their time. :tongue2:

 

NBC's coverage drive me nuts all day long. football coverage interspersed with Al Roker asking Haden Panetierre about her fuzzy winter boots in Tampa. it was mind numbing.
