While it's hard to believe, there was one negative that came out of last weekend's win over the Patriots. The Dolphins run of being first in line at the NFL's waiver wire buffet is officially over.
Here's an in-depth look at all the players the Dolphins have acquired since training camp in their efforts to churn the bottom of the roster.
S Tyrone Culver - Not many people know this but Culver and Dolphins receiver Derek Hagan were high school teammates. This Fresno State product was drafted in the sixth round by Green Bay, but the Packers depth in the secondary got him caught up in the numbers game, and he was waived. The Dolphins snatched Culver up off the waiver wire hoping he'd contribute immediately on special teams, and present some upside as a strong safety. So far Culver has played in every game and contributed four special teams tackles (only one was solo). Culver has promising acceleration, which will probably improve as he gains experience.

Edit: nevermind, I should read the article first, then open my big mouth. -
I don't cover the 'Phins for a living, so forgive me if I'm wrong, but Mathis & Cramer were definitely NOT waiver wire pickups, so Omar can remove them from his list.
It looks like Culver, McChessney & Smith were aquired as FA's as well.
And he can also remove Haynos, as he was signed off another team's practice squad (which any other team could have done had they wanted to keep him on their active roster for 3 weeks.)
As far as I can tell, Alleman, Barton, Garner and London were the only true "Waiver Wire" acquisitions.
This info is easily attainable on the official site.
Any experts out there, please correct me if I'm wrong here....

I like the Barton pickup. As well as London, he has good size. If Barton shows significant improvement as the season drags on, Vernon Carey should watch out... he may find himself looking for a new home. Which wont be that bad for him, he'll get himself a nice payday somewhere if its not here thats for sure.
