It's a lot of memorization, yes, but concentrate on the functions first. Everything follows from that. For example, if you know that the Iliopsoas muscle is responsible for flexion of the hip, then you can more or less figure out logically where it should be located because muscle pull, it's their only function. The samething with Erector Spinae muscles. They maintain posture, so they likley should be along the spine, right?

If you can, purchase a copy of Illustrated Gross Anatomy by Frank Netter, if you haven't already done so. It'll go a long way. PM me should you have any other questions :up:

 

I don't remember HS or even undergrad anatomy getting to intense, as it was usually combine with Physiology. You'll be fine. Lab3003 is dead on too. Netter's guide is fantastic. It's only an atlas, but the art work is awesome and dead on, and you can get it on CD too.

 

It sorta depends on the person. I loved anatomy in high school, loved it in college, and hopefully can love it in med school. People who are good at memorizing will have no problems but people who aren't will have issues. If you have trouble, a great way to memorize is finding an interactive program or the like on anatomy. There should be plenty of those.

Depending on the quality of answers expected by your teachers, physics requires that you memorize equations and apply the principals you learn to theoretical and real situations.

 

I actually found Physics harder than anything I've ever taken. But if the teacher is easy, it can be a breeze. If not, it can be pure hell.

 

Physics was definitely more difficult. I had a prof that gave us take home tests that were nearly impossible. Thank god he graded us on a massive curve. Best extra credit question ever: "Is hell endothermic or exothermic? Explain your answer." :lol:

 

im taking a medical terminology class right now....and the only thing that makes the class bareable is the book....that book is a freakin savior :) good luck! shouldn't be too bad....just like with every other subject, you have to STUDY!

 

Physics for me was pretty hard and I'm good with math too. It's probably because when I took it, it was taught by a teacher that was 2 years out of college that had college expectations on her high school students..

I suck at math so it really took a lot of effort for AP Physics C. Regular physics in high school was a joke. It's open book and no calculations. In college, it was insane mostly because I took the Engineering version (for bioengineers which i dropped later). I'll leave it at that because it still haunts me even though I got A's.

I'm sorry to say yes. And I did not do well at that. Pretty much made me rethink the Bioengineering major and go into Biochem (which unfortunately had a mandatory class that required Diff Equations anyways :sad: ).

I wish I had take-home tests, I can just ask my dad who was a Physics Ph.D from Berkeley. Let's just say he was disappointed I sucked at Physics.

 

I don't know how the standard Physics is in your place so I'd ask around and see if anyone ever took that class. In most cases, I'd go with Anatomy unless Physics is said to be easy.
