One player remaining on the roster from Parcells and Ireland's brilliant 2008 draft.
Nice job guys.
-
Oh good, another thread on the same tired subject.
great job.
yes, we know 2008 sucked.
-
If you can't hide your mistake get rid of it no use in feeding it anymore than you have to.
-
I never wanted Parcells. Ever. Over hyped and over rated to the EXTREME. However I don't believe Ireland had much say until Parcells left.
-
Because mistake of my football life, believing in the POS Parcells, I blame nothing on Ireland in that first draft, anyone thinks Ireland was cuttin checks while Parcells was on his first stint buying the groceries, I got some real estate in Iraq I wanna sell ya..
-
was kind of excited when Parcells came on board and then I quickly realized I didn't exactly like what he was doing. Only thing I backed till the end was Henne and I still think he is going to be a good QB. Ireland wasn't in charge of personnel until Parcells saw what he was building was going to fail

4 Pro Bowl appearances from that 2008 draft
Either way, retaining only one player from a draft is not really all that out of the ordinary in today's NFL.
-
Well, I mean, we did have a glorified hot dog vendor as a head coach and a senior citizen who would run play actions on third and that's your ***...
-
look at NE's drafts. BB hasn't exactly hit on anything recently. It's all a crap shoot. Unfortunatly for us, it's been more crap than shoot
-
It wasn't great....but credit goes for getting Jake Long when there was a LOT of talk about Chris Long and Gholston.
Also Kendall Langford signed a pretty big contract.
Can't fault the team for not blowing much needed cap space at a position of strength.
We also came out of that draft with Dan Carpenter and Davone Bess.
So I don't think anyone can really ***** about 4 years later and having 4 solid to great starters out of it.
FYI the Patriots only have 2 players on their roster from that draft left...Mayo the first rounder...and a WR who has 1 catch in 4 seasons.
The Jets only have Dustin Keller from that draft and whiffed large on Gholston.
