Today, Logan Morrison & Mike Stanton took some batting practice at the new Marlins Ballpark on the old grounds of the Orange Bowl in the Little Havana area near downtown Miami....just one more sign that eventually the Dolphins will have their stadium back for good, and no more dirt turf ! 14 months till it opens, just one more season ! (If that even happens) [Mods : please leave this here for optimal exposure and because it does relate to the Dolphins in a positive way !!!!]

What is so bad about Dolphins stadium? My seats are killer, getting in and out is a breeze, great tailgating space. I know we're not super close to the action but that will all change when they change the rake of the lower bowl and get more seats near the sidelines.
I have the best time in the world when i go. I cant see it being much better any other way?fins1 likes this. -

Ah yes, another article and another thread about the Marlins leaving Dolphins Stadium. I wonder how long until someone brings up the missed Olindo Mare kick against the patriots. After all the years those two teams have shared that stadium it should have become a home field advantage.

Right, and he had more practice then anyone on that clay. How come we never won games due to the opponents kicker missing kicks off clay? It's an excuse. The marlins have been there since 1993. When the Dolphins were A GOOD TEAM with Marino in the 90's, I never heard excuses about the clay, 'Cause we were winning.
We suck now, so the clay is a easy excuse for the losses. How about we just suck?

*****ing about stadiums is in vogue. Either the concessions suck (true) or the seats aren’t close enough (changing when the Marlins leave) or the fans aren’t loud enough (false) or it’s just not new enough (hi, Roger). Take your pick.
The Marlins spent YEARS lobbying for a new stadium, eventually won a ballot initiative that allocated money for a downtown Miami renewal that included money for a stadium, and then beat the court challenges. Even then, they settled for the Orange Bowl site instead of the downtown Miami location they originally wanted.
The Dolphins have not lobbied for a new stadium. Huizenga put a couple hundred million dollars of his own money into renovations intended to keep the stadium going for another 20 years. Ross is changing tactics by trying to get public money to pay for additional renovations, but he might as well just sell the team if he thinks Broward and Miami-Dade are going to give him a penny.
