WELLINGTON (Reuters) - One of the last shipments to a U.S. research base in Antarctica before the onset of winter darkness was a year's supply of condoms, a New Zealand newspaper reported on Monday. Bill Henriksen, the manager of the McMurdo base station, said nearly 16,500 condoms were delivered last month and would be made available, free of charge, to staff throughout the year to avoid the potential embarrassment of having to buy them. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/oukoe_uk_antarctica_condoms
People thinking that crap would have me catching the first flight outta there..Hell,i'd take my chances walking.
I imagine its a little like prison. Im glad they're practicing safe sex though. Gettin' it on in the wilderness of a far away region is how AIDS got started. Let us hope to God there are no green monkeys on that base...
If that's what goes on in the Antarctica base, you can put me down for two years in prison because I wouldn't set foot on their property.
I am. When i made that comment, i didn't think about what goes on in prison. I just figured I didnt' want anything to do with men lol.
Meanwhile Ahmed, who runs the little Stop and Shop outside the base, has filed a lawsuit against the owners of the base.
