Matt Ryan QB- Boston College!!
I think he will be a great QB!!! Hes a CArson Palmer QB clone in my eyes but better
We can have a true signal caller for years to come!!! John Beck IMO is not a franchise type QB In my eyes

I would much rather have Brian Brohm or andre' woodson
all u guys are saying beck isnt a parcells type of QB what exally is a Parcells type of QB -
It's all about Joe Flacco in round 2-3.
-
he has the same intangibles like Carson...same pocket presence the arm stregnth ill give it to palmer but his stance and accuracy is like Carson's!!! The bigger fact is that Matt Ryan is a smarter QB than Palmer makes great decisions@@
FAt Tuna likes Big Qb's and loves pocket passers...mHe loves Gun slingers.....ala Romo ala Bledose ala Pennington -
Brohm has played in a pro style offense his entire collegiate career. '07 was the only year in which Brohm had more than 400 passing attempts. As a matter of fact, Matt Ryan had more passing attempts in '07 than Brohm had in '05 and '06 combined. The only thing Matt Ryan has on Brohm is a better ability to avoid the sack. -
And "no" Tim Tebow is not the Man for us...Nebraska used to produce Qb's very much like him all the time, Scott Frost, Turner Gill...no thanks... -
Tebow is going to stay threw his senior year. Its sad that you have already wrote a possible QB off your list when he still has 2 years to go in college. Yes im a Gator fan but I am willing to wait till his senior year to decide if I want him as a phin.

Go back a year to Nov.4, 2006 as a true freshman vs. Michigan's (10-0)#4 defense: "...Trailing by just eight, Cardinals quarterback Nate Davis threw incomplete on fourth-and-goal with 2:46 left and couldn’t connect on a final-play desperation heave, allowing the second-ranked Wolverines to escape with a 34-26 win on Saturday."..." -
I think trading down would be the smartest thing we could do at this point, but whether or not any team will be willing to trade up with us is the big unknown. I think Ryan and Brohm will both be top 15 overall picks and the first QB's taken...I like Ryan a little more than Brohm. If we are not able to grab one of these two guys I think maybe taking Flacco in the late 2nd or early 3rd would be worth the risk.

I would love it if we picked Matt Ryan. I wouldn't even care if we drafted him with the number 1 pick, but if we could trade down and still get him that would be great.

did you come to this conclusion about Beck by watching the 4 games he played in?Last edited: Jan 15, 2008 -

I simply cannot see the Dolphins selecting a quarterback in the first round. Also, I'm not completely sold on Ryan. I saw him play some solid games, especially in the fourth quarter, but I also saw him put up some real stinkers.
Let's give Beck one more year to prove himself and maybe select a mid-round quarterback just to hedge the bet a little bit. -
I don't think any of us know whats on Bill Parcell's mind and even though Jeff Ireland is now the GM, IMO Parcell's will have a lot of say in this first draft as head Tuna. Personally I hope the opportunity arrises to trade down and get more picks to rebuild with. I'm hoping that the rumor that Jerry Jones is infatuated with McFadden is true and he is willing to give up the two 1st rounders and more for the opportunity to get him.

I think Roman makes sense..., trade down get your "bounty" of whatever it is hopefully picks for both this year and next.... and choose from there..., no player strikes me worth the kind of money that J.Russell hustled...
I would take under value to not have to pay that money for a first overall and/or a defensive player..., the LTs and they say there are a lot of good ones will all command Shelton money someday and that is for an average player..., so "collect" your nicklels because good offense costs more in the end...
CBs, QBs and LTs seem to have the highest salaries in this league..., and that makes sense..., you spend too much outside these categories and you screw up the future... -

Adam..., Sam posted this before and I believe the point is... "Would you trade a first overall for what amounts to Matt Hasselbecks ceiling..."
The actual quote from Ryan's coach was hugely posititive on the attributes side..., but SAM and others make a very good point would you trade the no.1 overall for the ceiling of Matt Hasselbeck..., I for one wouldn't..., I would however trade down build into both sides of the line and still take the BPA... That may or may not be Ryan - Atlanta may draft him... -
Andre Woodson.....nuff said

I would take less to get out of that position... Not many will agree... But we are re-visiting RBrown VS Braylon Edwards VS. SMerriman...
They felt compelled to choose RB he was/is a stud... has all the tools..., but there were other many Runners available later...
If they get out of that position they solidfy themselves for next years draft..., NE always has that second first round pick and they trade around willy nilly it appears and this year they land the 7th overall I believe..., you have to give them credit for that... -
The bigger problem for us is I think all of the teams in a moveable position behind us should have someone of interest slide to them without having to move. Unless someone gets a real hard on for a specific player I don't really think anyone behind us is going to feel a need to pay. -
Right now I see Phillip Merling and Jeremy Thompson being slotted for the 2nd round so I dont see the need to draft DE in the first. I think Solai just needs work on his technique and will improve dramatically with one year of technique work and strength training and I think him and Holliday can man the NT position next year so I dont see a need for Dorsey. Add the injury concerns and the fact he's better suited for a 4-3 and he's off my board. Which brings us to Gholston. I think JT and Porter will man the OLB positions next year so I dont see the need for that pick. I think we're bring in Flozell Adams or someone like Locklear to man the OT position so I dont see the need for Jake Long or Clady. Bottom line I think when all is said and done Parcells will get his franchise QB and basically kill the last vestige of the Cameron regime - Beck -
