Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. Yeah I know all of you modders can get these old games whenever you wish and maybe you can tell me how to get them for my PS3 but for everyone else this game is going to be great (if you're a Genesis lover). This game has 40 games for only $30 and trophy support for the PS3 (HD of course). The entire major Sonic selection is on here, Streets of Rage series, Vectorman series, Golden Axe series, Shinobi series, and much much more. Personally I love these old Genesis games and this and Uncharted 2 are on top of my must have games for next year. Here is the link (definitely worth the read if you are interested): SEGA :: GAMES :: Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection
Since it's $30 that's awesome... So tired of companies cashing in on old games because their new ones suck ***... Not calling anyone out... SQUARE-ENIX
Yes it is. I am going to post the whole game list at the end of the post for people who don't want to go to the link I posted (anlgp). Gamespot says February 10th 2009. Mods don't kill me (Mor): Anyone else amazed that 40 cartridges can be put on one Blu-Ray or DVD.
Average SNES/Genesis era game = 3-4MB Average NES/SMS era game = 256KB They could fit all of that stuff on a CD
Still amazing but what's even more amazing is some of the huge detailed games that are made now are nowhere near as great as those old dinky little games. Perfect example is the new Sonic games compared to the old.
Never had a Genesis so I might have to pick this up. Especially for just 30$. Thx for the heads up king
No Problem man. I'm sure you'll love it the Genesis was a great system. There are even games on there I haven't played that I would love to (for instance I've never played Sonic 3). I can't wait to play these, get trophies, play them in hd, and I can save my games. Cool stuff.
Remember the old Genesis vs SNES battle? Multiconsole games, exclusives? SNES more powerful console, Genesis bettergames? Doesn't that sound like today?
if you ever randomly have the opportunity to play any of the sonic advance games on the game boy, or sonic rush on the DS, do it. They are exactly what Sonic should be, and they're existence drives me crazy cause they play just like the genesis classics, and yet when sega makes a sonic game on consoles, they play like crap. On handhelds they remember what sonic is all about, on consoles they're stupid.
found this site, it has alot of nes and genesis games to play. free, on ur broswer. The SmartAss DOT Info ~ The best way to waste your time! click on games on the bottom
I'm pretty sure you can get all those games already if you download them on Wii lol Thats cool though.
Maybe but all for $30? I am guessing Nintendo charges at least $1 per game (I'm sure more) and there is no way you could get 40 for $30 unless Nintendo is almost giving them away. Plus I doubt Nintendo has all of these. Plus these are in HD (impossible on the Wii) and lets not forget there will be unlockable games.
All of that for 30 bucks? Count me in as excited about his. I owned a genesis way back when. The most notable difference I can remember between having that or an SNES was that when Mortal Kombat was released Genesis owners got a version with blood in it and SNES owners had to do without.
Yep. Recently i bought the megaman collection used for the gamecube. it has megaman 1-8, and i bought it for 7 dollars. Wii charges 5 dollars for just megaman 1!
Well reminded by anlgp's thread I remembered to check and "Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection" went on sale today. I like playing games in my browser but actually having the ability to use a controller and play in HD is quite a bit better. Strange that I am excited more about a collection of old games than the new ones coming out now. Plus I am a Sega fanboy from way back and having the best Genesis games on one disk for only $30 bucks is great. Can't wait to pick this up this weekend and go do a little retro gaming. Here is Sega's site detailing today's launch: http://www.sega.com/news/?n=2999
Ok, I just picked this game up, and if you don't have it yet, just go get it. I think it has like every good/great Genesis game on it that I can think of.
I got over 700 NES titles on my phone. Nothing like some Mike Tyson's Punch Out while waiting for your vehicle to be serviced.
