Post a clip of your favorite childhood movies here and discuss in this thread... Given the various age groups of our members this should be interesting... I'll start: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-P03NGSP6Y WILLOW (1988) Don't call me a peck! I used to love it as a kid, even had the toys. For some reason I thought about it today and wanted to see if anyone else remembered and enjoyed it as I did.
The wife and I just watched it again a couple of weeks ago. Great movie. Although, midgets with regular size hands (Willow) are a little unsettling. Now for a movie that wasn't good from the Wayback Machine...Flash Gordon. Nothing about that movie holds up at all. Hell, it didn't then.
Here's another one of my all-time favorites as a kid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WT_xpFZe20A Labyrinth (1986)
I disagree...you obviously don't remember the pillow fight scene with a drunken Dale Arden vs the Princess!
Don't tell me you had a crush on Bowie in that movie as well. My wife can't even talk about him without blushing. He looked like an androgynous freak in that movie...more so than normal.
It was a tease. Plus I've always thought the princess was hideous. Now, if you want to talk Sheena, then you've got my attention. I mean Tanya Roberts, topless in a waterfall is the stuff of boyhood dreams.
i have met so many girls that had a crush on bowie... im telling you this androgynus thing pays off.... my particular favorite... i got to watch it again see if it really is as good as i thought it was: http://youtube.com/watch?v=jm2O9sn1j4o
http://youtube.com/watch?v=NACniFCYAS8&feature=related Cool Runnings is GREATEST MOVIE EVER. I also like this one. This movie was made 19 years ago but I saw it for the first time earlier this month lol. : http://youtube.com/watch?v=s8UL_9R_W-Y Dead Poet's Society
Holy Crap! Yeah it is. God, it was so good to have HBO as a kid in the 80's. Thank you for improving my fondest mammor...um...memories.
I have never seen this movie, but this ending scene is just awesome. Almost the entire scene the cast says... nothing, and that contributes to how powerful it is. From the Last of the Mohicans. I was searching for the origin of the song in the Nike "Leave Nothing" commercials... well here it is. Its a bit violent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SoeDAPj6gg Promentory... one of the best background songs.
yup... morgan freeman was so good in it (i still haven't seen it again so I dunno if it actually sucks...)
Unfortunately the audio sync is out, but still a classic scene from a forgotten movie. Definitely NSFW! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLdDqhtkDNY Hollywood Shuffle - Written and Directed by Robert Townsend (Playing the role of Robert Taylor)
and annnnnd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzgVPB5dpgg coincidentally Brian Froud is one of my top two artistic inspirations... love his work... oh and how could I forget http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRM0yLxMis4&feature=related the 80's was a great time for kids movies
Loved The Dark Crystal and The Never Ending Story too... Who doesn't love this theme song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwzRm_Ut7HM
haha I just watched it and posted it I'll find another one to link to Here's another one. I remember dragging my unsuspecting older cousin to this one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtMZKYnLg5c
I haven't actually watched it since I was a kid, I loved it then too. Watching that vid brought back some memories
you know, that scene where the horse sinks in the mud had such an emotional impact on me as a kid and when I watched the movie again a few weeks ago it all came flooding back. I had completely forgotten about it too until I saw it again and felt the exact same way
I realized what the movie was from that still shot and edited my earlier post. Yeah, I know the scene you're referring to. It had pretty much the same impact on me as well when I was younger.
another... the big monster in this freaked me out as a kid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJObyY3I3Ms&feature=related
"See ya later, alligator! Ha-hah!" Awesome. How about these two: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yYeZMx1Y7U http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiTSyZbIjAg&feature=related Or this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6BZZn7UUWU&feature=related It seems I have a thing for old fantasy movies.....hmmm.....I may be more of a geek than previously thought...
