Are We Looking At Spiller?

If he is still on the board and represents the best value I think we take him. You can never have to many explosive players on offense. 21 TDs of 50 yards or more would real good in a fins uniform

this instead of defense???? never happens...they take Dez before Spiller...provided they both are on the board...

Yea if Bryant is still on the board of course but I was saying that if he is the best value left.. Morgan gone, Bryant Gone etc then you take him

wait if bryant and morgan are gone?? who else?? I understand the value aspect of it, and truely understand Spiller is a playmaker...however at 12 it isn't like there isn't going to be value around in position of need for them to choose from.....

Sure but anytime there is a guy available that has that kind of game changing big play ability you have to strongly consider taking him IMHO. And its not like out RB position is all that set. Ronnie is in his last year, Ricky is in his and may retire, Cobbs is great but no star. RB may not be a position of need this second but come next offseason it very well could be

I don't mind Spiller at 12 depending on who else is there.
But this article is insinuating we are looking at trading up to get him. That I want no part of.

I would take both Earl Thomas and B Graham before I took Morgan or Bryant.

Taking Spiller would be a huge mistake on our part. The guy does not fit a need and he isn't going to be playing with guys that are slower then him anymore. He is just another Bush IMO... great college player soso pro.

I'm not sure he doesn't fit a need.
Ricky is almost done. And the FO had no problem trading away Ronnie, and that was before him getting caught driving drunk.
I don't think we're as set at RB as most think.

IMO Spiller at 12 just simply isnt happening, it goes on the same level as Marshall, just not going to happen.......the reason is simple, this FO doesnt believe in getting playmakers at that position, there philosophy is getting the hogs up front to make holes, our O-Line is arguably the deepest non needy position on the team, and that was before Incognito...Miami has holes on the team bigger than the black hole, and what do they do...go out and get a OL via free agency...RB's are a dime a dozen, you open up holes anybody can run through them...

Spiller at 12 would be a luxury pick, if everything else is in place...IMO...then again IMO last year Pat White was a luxury pick, and the did it so who knows?

I agree with you that it won't happen. But not because it isn't a need.

It's not a bad policy to try and get special talents with your top picks, provided they are also good football players. IMO Bryant, Spiller and E. Thomas are players at the top of the draft that fit that. I also like Graham, but he's not as special talent wise although he might end up being as good of a player. I don't see Morgan as special. I like him as a prospect. I think he's a good fit positionally and he seems to have the make-up. But I can't say that he's definitely going to be a better player than Graham or Hughes will be.

I have been reading up on Graham, and I think I am falling out of love with the guy....

I could be happy with this if -

1. Dez was gone.

2. The FO believes Spiller can make the same type of big plays in the passing game that Chris Johnson is making for the Titans.

I'm making a big jump here but I wouldn't be shocked if the idea here is to convince other teams that we have an interest in taking Spiller, so that if he is on the board at 12
they will have to trade with us to take
him. If in fact it convinces another team to trade ahead of us to take him then that isn't a terrible result either as it may drop another player to 12 that we like.
I know it's a leap but Spiller is the type of player that people trade up for, especially already good teams picking in the 20s who feel they are one more spark on offense away from a superbowl

graham will be a better fit than Morgan who has said himself that he sees himself as more of a 4-3 de. he said he would be willing to try but obviously hasnt spent much time at LB . graham is versatile as hell and could be a WS or SS linebacker. i hope we take him despite the knocks on height and everyone view of his value. graham is the guy i hope

Bill "Philly Billy" Werdel was on the local radio this morning. He is currently working with ESPN. He has a lot of NFL connections. He used to host a radio show out here. He said this morning that the Dolphins, and Giants are trying to trade up into the top 10 to make a run a Spiller. Take it for what is worth.:wink2:

I think you can do that with any of the OLB prospects. I don't see anyone that is head and shoulders better than the OLB that will be available at #43. We all have our preferences of course, but they all similar amounts of strengths and weaknesses.

Trading UP to get a RB? haha yeah right

spiller isnt such a far fetched option given our teams desire to run first. especially if he is able to line up wide and smoke a coner back once in a while. its like 1 1/2 players in one. he is a mismatch that can be moved around.

i dont like the idea of taking a running back so high. especially since i wouldnt expect him to see the field much with ricky and ronnie on the roster this season. i want a garaunteed starter and producer this season.

i was impressed as hell with spiller, watching him and ford, run and catch all over UM last year. so i wouldnt be disapointed if we did get him.

It is all one big smokescreen, intended to drum up interest if he is there at 12.....Spiller isnt happening in the 1st....they arent paying that type of money to a 3rd string RB, possibly a fourth stringer....
