yup, beat me to it. just read it on yahoo sports. both manningham and arrington have declared. and ryan mallett is transferring.

but i definatly wouldnt mind seeing manningham on this team. that kid was awesome to watch at michigan

 

I haven't seen Arrington, but I have seen Manningham and Louisville play a few times, and he looks like a tall receiver with nice speed and great hands, and he can outleap most defenders for the ball.....reminds me of a taller Randy Moss. If he could bulk up he might be able to play the TE spot which is also a big need for us.

 

Very confused by this post. Mario Manningham couldn't possibly remind you of a taller Randy Moss, he's at most 6'0''. If you were referring to Louisville's Mario Urrutia, he's got the height but he's no where close to Moss in terms of speed (wouldn't say "nice" speed either) and I don't see him adding 40+ pounds to play TE.

 

Taller Randy Moss? I'll admit Manningham has hops but he's only 6'0. Moss is 6'4 plus hops. Probably referring to Mario Urruita, who's probably a poor man's Limas Sweed.

 

Yeah Mario's not a big guy at all. He can make some sick catches though. He made two against Florida in the bowl game. A one handed grab falling out of bounds and a behind the back catch that looked almost like a basketball play.

 

Ooops , sorry got the wrong Mario.....meant Urrutia who I think is 6'6" or 6'7".....he has nice hands and can make catches over most smaller d-backs. I don't see Moss as being that much fasterthan Mario U, but Mario was gimpy most of the year....Moss just does a better job of elbowing defenders away.

 

You don't see Randy Moss being faster than a guy who'll probably run a 4.6 or higher? Ok then...

 

WHEN???? 5 years ago? I think speed is nice, but being a good route runner and being able to catch it is just as important. I also think Early Doucet is a guy we might have a shot at in the 3rd round.

 

Though Doucet lacks the size to be a big target like Moss.

 

Moss can still fly. He's certainly faster than the 4.5 4.6 area. He ran a 4.25 or 4.29 at his pro day, I believe. Brady was recently interviewed and he said how happy he was that he finally, for the first time, out threw Randy in practice.

 

Thanks for the info. I'm still a little nervous about Mich WRs, however I like both prospects. Hope they turn out to be more of a B. Edwards type (if selected) and not like the others.

 

Moss probably lost a step from his early career, but he can still fly to the endzone with the best of them.
