If we can move Ginn for decent value out of the division, I'd be very happy with that lineup for our WR corps

That would suck. You have 4 recievers who are pretty much the same and one who is just better than all of them.

can we please stop the ridicule on Ginn now? For crying out loud, the WR issue has been addressed. It's time to accept Ginn for what he is. Embrace his strengths, and forgive his weaknesses.

    WHAT HE IS:

    • Significantly above average kick returner
    • Elite in terms of speed
    • Deep threat wide receiver
    • X-factor with the end around
    • Hard worker (easy to take for granted)

    WHAT HE ISN'T:

    • Big, tough, and physical
    • A #1 wide receiver capable of dominating nearly any situation
    • A jump ball receiver

I thought maybe since Marshall offers the things that Ginn doesn't, then maybe people would stop ridiculing Ginn and accept his valued role on this team.

    Problem is, he drops balls.

    A lot.

Not only that, he drops balls and sometimes he tips balls in the air which directly lead to INT's.

This past season, just off the top of my head, at least -TWO- bobbles by Ginn that caused an INT, and one of them a pick 6 even if it was a bad call in the Saints game.

He is not a football player. Yes, he has elite speed.

Maybe we can just send him on deep routes now vs opposing #2 cornerbacks.

No he doesn't drop a lot of passes. Until this season, and it wasn't the entire season, he's never had issues with catching a pass.

But hey, a few games defines a player for his entire career.

Funny thing was, Ginn's drops came in bunches, he had 3 bad games, but the rest of the time he was consistent at catching the ball.

BTW, here is his initial interview video:

The problem is people blame him for not producing the value of a number 9 overall pick. Which isn't his fault.

Well then who's fault is it? Who else is going out on the field wearing a #19 jersey? Yea he shouldn't have been drafted so high, but it's his job to produce and earn the money that has been given to him. When life hands you a challenge, you need to step up and handle that challenge, and show people that you deserve to be where you are.

Insane isn't it? The blind hatred for Ginn is astounding. I'm not a huge fan, didn't want him in the first place, but the guy is very valuable to this team. He picked this team onto his shoulders and won us a game against a division rival in their house this past season. He's an X factor that must be accounted for on every play. He has high character and I honestly hope he's here for another 4-5 years. Smart talented guy who was thrust into a roll that he shouldn't have been. But shipping him for a can of beans like many want to do is absolutely absurd. Ginn is going into his 4th year as a WR under his 2nd OC...it usually takes 3 yrs for a WR to get it. The ginn hate has to stop.

Ginn will b a dep threat for us to stretch the field. He'll be a threat to take the ball to the house as a full Tim ST player, and help boost he team as an X factor. He's the Reggie bush of this team....rare talent that when used properly can give the team a much needed boost. I've got faith in Ginn..I think he proves a lot of people wrong this year....

Ginn might actually become a weapon with defenses having to key in on Marshall. Hartline should probably be the #2 WR, but Ginn could come in and run some deep routes to keep the defense honest. Or how about four WR sets with Marshall, Ginn, Hartline and Bess?

At this point, unless he shows something in training camp, I'd cut Turner and try to get him on the practice squad. Keeping Cam is more important to me as he would provide great WR depth and is a good Special Teams player.

As always though, any offer of a third rounder for Ginn and he's gone. Any offer of a fourth for Cam and I take the pick.

I'm a lot more worried about us trying to give Ronnie Brown away for a mid round pick. It would be worth losing out on a 3rd rounder just to see what happens when you have Brandon Marshall and RB on the field together. And Ricky in the mix....

Personally I think if you keep this offense intact, it's going to be a blast watching Dolphin games this year. We got what was missing....

Ginn is NEVER going to live up to #9 overall billing. Everyone needs to accept that, but at the same time realize he can still be productive on this team.

Its a matter of using him correctly. Most of his drops are in traffic areas, curls, jumps etc. You need to line him up and let him run, use him as an x-factor, slants etc. If he can hit a seam dude is gone. Its a matter of getting him to those spaces rather than forcing him the ball.

Dude isnt tough, hes not going to take a big hit (or even a hit in general). Hes not gonna attack a jump ball and come down.

But he sure as hell can burn Revis Island a new one. With the focus on Marshall and Hartline now, we can definitely use a speed guy like Ginn. Id much rather keep Ginn as a returner/3-4 WR than keep Cobbs as a returner, or Turner as a wideout.

hope we don't trade Ronnie for picks (unless we can get a 1st). I'd love to see what he can do when there are not 9 in the box on every play

I think Marshall is going to make a lot of our receiving corp a lot better. It is going to be a great season. People will have no idea who to cover.

I think a lot of people who can't stop the ridicule of TG also forget he made the corner of the end zone catch the year before to win in NY, taking the division and knocking the Pats AND Jets out of the playoffs. IIRC it was a tough over-the-shoulder/toe tap catch.

He has made plays, and some huge ones, in his time here. Even if he is gone soon, I will long remember him kicking the Jet's butts on more than one occasion.
And that always brings a smile to my face, no matter who does it!

OMG, that video made me want to go punch something and start cheering! Why oh why do we have an offseason, lol!

Anyways, for those of you Ginn haters you can see on each of those TD passes he had two and three people on him....Bess, Hartline, and Camarillo do not face those types of coverages often. With Marshall on the field Ginn will face single coverage much more often, which opens up the quick score with his tremendous speed. Why on Earth would you trade away that type of option?

He's getting better every year, and all of those short passes open up when you have that kind of athletic ability on the field. If they try to double Ginn and Marshall, someone is wide open on a twenty yard out....it's not just about who catches the ball.

To give an analogy, look at the Heat and D Wade (Ginn is no Wade, of course...don't think I'm even remotely going there). Even our Heat scrubs do well with Wade on the floor because he demands so much attention form the other team. He drives in, three people jump on him, then he kicks it out to a nobody that gets a wide open jumper for an easy score.

Ginn essentially does the same thing, even though he's not anywhere near that level yet. With Ginn and Marshall on the field, Henne should have one heck of a year in 2010.

your right gish, I have mentioned that I would move him for a 2nd or 3rd, but thats unlikely, Iam willing to see the improvements in his body and game in the coming year...He's going to have a few battles in training camp..If he hasnt grown as a football player, I look for him to be moved for a draft pick during preseason..

    Man he looks good sometimes..
