Grade his performance as the "overseer" of football operations. I ask this question today, because it is being reported by a couple of sources that Parcells is not even around anymore and just corresponds via phone with Ireland and Sparano.
A+ Can't really ask for much more, at least realistically. Ozzie Newsome is really the only person I can think that I wouldn't mind trading Parcells for. Either way, we should be good for the next 5+ years, barring someone deconstructing this team.
B, the 09 Draft and the FA misses, kinda down grade him a touch in my eyes. If we were in the AFC West though, we'd be a powerhouse.
hmmm...only pluses and minuses? I would give a straight A, considering the team just came off a 1-15 year and had Beck at QB and Ginn at WR to build around. I would hate to think of what this team would look like if Cameron was still running the show...1-50 and counting?
A- Franchise QB - Check Franchise Coach - Check Premier WR - Check Youth on D - Check Revamp of roster after Cameron fiasco - Check I'd give him and A+ if not for Pat White, Patrick Turner and some of our FA decisions.
B- He's had some sterling successes, but he's had a lot of stinkers, many of them high-round draft picks, such as Pat White and Pat Turner. He wasted too many first day draft picks for me to give him a higher grade. Also, Sean Smith may well be a bust too, which would drag the grade down as well.
I gave him a B+. He found a good coach and a decent GM. He selected a HOF level LT and found a #1 WR. He seems to have found a franchise QB. The defense is loaded with young talent at most core positions. On the other hand, there have been several FA busts. The OL in particular has failed to become what was envisioned. The offense suffers from a dearth of play makers. On balance I see an ascending team. He's done far more good than bad, but to much money has been spent ineffectively to give him an "A".
B- but that grade can obviously go up if this turns out to be a good season. He was at an A after 08 and then dropped to this after last season. Some regression was expected but FA and draft busts caused more than necessary.
B+... not perfect (there have been some misses), but we are a hell of a lot better than before he came here.
Nailed it on the head. Parcells's brings the same level of success everywhere he goes. What we do next is up to Ireland and Sparano. Also agree that Ozzie is king of the hill and BP is top of the 2nd tier
Parcells checked all the blocks needed to turn our team around and in my opinion did a good job. Did he have some misses? Sure he did...every team has them, but to go from 1-15 to where we are now? Great job Tuna!! I just wish we'd run the damned ball more. It's the only way we're going to be able to set up those long strikes from Henne to Marshalll.
He was an A for sure....then I remembered he used a 2nd on Pat White....its cool Bill u still did a helluva job. B+
from 1-15 to currently 20-15 over the past 11-5 1st in AFCE, 7-9, currently 2-1....huge, huge, huge turn around that is being glossed over to easily it seems. This was a huge undertaking, requiring a massive roster turnover...we are faster and younger - built from the Core on the DL and OL, and it seems folks want to claim that since 1 or 2 at most positions are still not up to their grade, he should be penalized for 51 out of 53 major upgrades. You take a test and nail 50 out of 53, or 51, or 52, etc....you are getting an A+. You get 97%, 98%, 99% correct...thats A+ every day. Even if you gloss over the from WORST to FIRST....we are not a joke of the NFL (like some perennial franchises), we not only redeemed ourselves - instantly, but we are relevant for playoff runs each season including last year right till the end....and same this season is to be expected. That is an A+ from the abyss - As far as Team building which is the question. Some folks need to revote...LOL
I also scored it A-. I am on the wait-and-see side of the whole deal, but so far so good. Can't really complain. Our roster is 99% turned over and the level of talent brought in makes Cameron's crew look like a pee wee football staff.
look how long some franchises waddle in mediocrity before they become something...then when they do...they are one and done. We are relevant again...and could be pushing for a challenge this season..and top tier next...all in four seasons. A plus
Are you implying that the NFL wouldn't have just made us vacate that one win? Either that or we'd be the Los Angeles Reefers by now.
Him, Mike Wallace, or Loadholt so Vernon Carey wouldn't be greasing up the field so defenders could just slide into Henne.
I give him an A+. We were 1-15 when he took over and now we're contenders and we've got a roster filled with young talent. Oh, and because I'm a homer.
