So, about Unity. I like that the crowd is no longer there just to exclusively react to the player character, and the idea of having a skill point system is interesting. Level up systems are always a good way to show progress. I'm sure it'll be similar to the skill system in Watch Dogs. And the hint about Abstergo is… intriguing.
Yes, I suggest you get that out of the way at some point. It's a different kind of AC game but really damn good.
Yeah, I din't play 3 but i played BF for about 4 hours before i reinstalled my OS without backing up my save files. Didn't have Uplay Sync because of all the rollback problems at launch, and as a result I am starting over.
AC3 is underrated, that's worth a playthrough as well if only to find out the ending of the Desmond trilogy. Then again, you can always watch Youtube for that.
Due to my play throught being so far apart and inconsistent, I didn't remember much of Desmond's story to be honest.
They show refresher videos, and you can always read summaries or watch the previous game's ending on YouTube.
So pumped about this game. Haven't played any AC game in months, I'm starting to get an itch for it again.
Kotaku has some details on ACU. Read the full article as it's stuffed with information (this is a great article that should be more common in gaming journalism), but here are some highlights.
So, when Kotaku revealed the Assassin's Creed Unity leak, they also made mention of a game called Assassin's Creed Comet that would be for the previous gen consoles (Xbox 360, PS3, presumably PC). It's apparently real.
Assassin's Creed Rogue announced for PS360 only. This appears to be the rumored Assassin's Creed Comet game for previous gen platforms only. The protagonist is a Templar, Shay Patrick Cormac, who hunts assassins along the eastern seaboard in and around 1758, during the middle of the French and Indian War. So it's a safe bet that Haytham Kenway is coming back. Apparently, Adewale from AC4 is confirmed to be returning. So I guess we get to shoot Adewale now. According to VG247, the game ties AC3 to AC Unity and plays like a mix of AC3 and AC4. Interesting.
I'm a little worried with 2 Creeds in one year, worried one will suffer so I'm holding back on any pre-ordering AC3 was the last time I get burned. Granted I did really like 4.
Torn on whether to play the one on the PS3. Moving up to the PS4 in a few weeks, and planning on moving to the new system in total. If the PS4 could play older games, that would be awesome, but they insist on building them so that they cannot these days.
Sorry, it's impossible to make AMD x86 CPUs backwards compatible with the Cell monstrosity. Just ain't happening. I would say if you guys are on the fence about a game, play Unity if you can. That's clearly the lead title. And I wouldn't worry about quality loss. There are something like 10 studios involved with each AC game, with every studio doing a piecemeal part (one studio did all of the Romulus dungeons in Brotherhood, for example).
Oh, I'll absolutely be playing Unity. I was just saying that I'm on the fence for the other, as I'm otherwise not going to buy PS3 games any more but don't want to miss a part of the series.
Well, if you have the PS3, and want to play the game, it doesn't make sense to skip it. For me, I have a problem with it being available only on the PS360. I don't intend to start playing AC games with a controller if I can help it. Mouse look is too useful in this series. Maybe I'll just watch a no commentary playthrough on Youtube.
I used to work with a guy who played all of the AC games on his PC. I can't imagine doing that! I need my controller. As for the PS3, I'm going to have such a backlog of PS4 games soon that I'll likely never get around to it. Playing The Show now, & Madden next week. Dragon Age in November, then Unity, and I'll likely get Lego Hobbit and Little Big planet to play with my wife after that, and I'm curious about The Order as well, though since they let on that it has a strong horror edge, its no longer a must buy.
How was that add-on game in AC4, when you played as Aveline or whatever her name is? Worth the bother?
AC Unity delayed 2 weeks to November 11. You're thinking of Freedom Cry, the DLC for AC4. The game starring Aveline is an HD remake of the PSP game she appeared in. And yes, it's worth the bother, it's a full fledged AC game.
Those are some really high end minimum specs. My PC is not quite two years old, and was the best Win 7 laptop that the store I used to work for ever sold, and it would just scrape by. I don't game on the PC at all anymore though. PS4 all the way now.
PC requirements naturally jump up with each console generation, in part because developers are lazy as hell and don't optimize their PC ports. Still, it's not like previous AC games, or other contemporary games, are light on the system requirements. They're also being more honest about the system requirements; for a long time, requirements were a joke, because they were always understated.
Man, it looks incredible. I probably won't preorder it like I did last one though, mainly because I didn't touch it for 6 months after lol got a back log. Definitely am going to pick up in 2015 tho.
I'll get it as a gift from my wife for the holidays, but I won't touch it until I'm done with my first playthrough of DA3. Might not be until February or March, but by that time maybe there will be some patches and DLC out, so I'll start the game in a better place anyways.
Yeah, that was my last. I'd just turned 28 at that point. I did spend quite a few days off entirely playing Skyrim though. If I weren't a stay at home dad, I'd totally be doing so for DA3. Can't take a day off from the kids though. All my gaming is now after 9pm.
