You mean the school post them? I think it was a news outlet that re-posted the pics they found off some blog, Not ASU

 

If those are the pictures that is sad.

 

There are a lot worse pics that can be found on facebook, myspace, etc. Especially since we have Undie Run here and I, like many other students, have been tagged (and personally un-tagged, lest future employers see it) in pics with random cheerleaders from that quarterly event. :escape:

 

No matter who posted them. They are basically implying it as a detriment to the school image and saying how it shouldn't be posted but than the news outlet goes out and does the same thing. How could they go out and post those pics again to the nation and expect it to not affect the school's image?

 

Kinda reminds me of the Costas/Bizinger/Deadspin debate the other night. These pics are on peoples myspace and facebook pages and that automatically makes them public property according to some.

If these pics were taken and then somehow stolen and posted would they still be on the squad? This is my problem, at what point do we draw the line?

 

Exactly. The problem now a days is that people can't have any privacy to do what they wish without some sickos creeping on them. How do we stop that? I don't know.

they are on a public space man. It is absolutely stupid for people to put pictures like that up. They are on a public forum. Facebook, Myspace, all of those sites are public. You, me, almost everyone has access. You dont want something like this to come out... you dont post in a public forum. This is like people writing about their suicidal thoughts on a blog that is a public forum.

 

Understood, Im just asking at what point to we draw the line. Which is why I asked what would happen had the pictures been stolen and posted. I realize the internet has caused new situations for us to deal with as a society, and wonder how things like this will be handled in the future.

I blame the school. They are 6 beautiful looking girls taking beautiful looking pictures. I just do not agree with a society that both praises beauty and demonizes it at the same time.

I would worry a lot more about students/athletes/etc doing illegal things like dui, fighting in bars, and the like. You don't hear of the football players getting suspended for barroom brawls.
