I was born and raised in Ohio (right out of Cincy), it was great. Lived in Hollywood FL in the early 70's (met my husband there). Now I live in GA around 80 miles S. of Atlanta. (Where my husband is orginally from.) They all had their good and bad points, but each was home while I was there. I don't see how anyone can argue about a state. Especially if they never lived there. Visiting doesn't count. I visited Bellflower Cali in '68, but I wouldn't begin to spout off about it. Plus Jersey brought me the Four Seasons singing group, so I can't say a word! One of the first things I ever asked Mary was if she had ever seen Frankie Valli of the Four Season. She hadn't, she's just a youngun. LOL
NJ/NY and the tri state area is the cradle of this countries civilization, and it is the county's hub for culture. its not debatable. there is no more diverse and culturally rich part of the country. your comment on troopers is just weak. Daytona's aerospace program and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology are not public schools Einstein(who resided in NJ). and the further i read, the less your post really needs addressing, as most of it is pointless. Im just sticking up for my home. And hey I love Florida, and totally plan to have a vacation home there one day. My brother has a house in Amelia Island, one of the nicer parts of the state. Still wouldnt consider raising our kids there though, when we can raise them here. And i love South Beach, love the eating, love the weather, love a lot about it...but no city comes close to NY in significance or importance or profundity. not miami and boston and LA combined.
Give em time...they won't be "horrible" for long. Yea, yea....there goes Jersey again, hangin' on to NY's coattails like it's anywhere near as important.
For the record no one is saying NY sucks, in fact I found it awesome, except for the Jets fans. and there's no need to get that upset when someone makes fun of your state, hell trash Florida all you like. Its perfectly legal to take a dump in a parking garage in Miami You forgot to mention the women.
ha...please. NY staters... they need to seperate NYC and make it its own province, like DC. Its mostly NJers pumpin life into that city. you, my friend..may as well be from Barfallo !
I hate it when my girlfriend spits... I keep trying to tell her that spitters are quiters, but she just doesn't like to swallow
Ok now that is just taking our little joke too far buddy.... Besides we all know you dont have a girlfriend.
I have never understood the fascination with the spitting/swallowing thing, I mean as long as it is ALL in her mouth what do I care what she does with it? You people are too fkin picky.
Thomas Edison, a resident of NJ, made his Summer Home (6 months out of the year actually) in Ft. Myers, FL. /Hometown Shout Out'd
you never said public or private schools einstein, you just said schools. read your post. if we're going to go with the public schools statement i really don't care about that because i have no desire to raise a family so what would public schools do for me? your rebuttal of troopers was weaker than my initial comment on troopers. i believe this is because that they are human and there is only so much ground they can cover. through no fault of their own are those nasty sections of town nasty. that's just how parts of states are. more troopers should be made to take 4 years at their job but what makes you so sure you have better troopers than anywhere else? i personally think places like philadelphia and salem, mass. and gettysburg have more the kind of culture i'm into than jersey does. edit: just read the back to your corners bit from mary. sorry i'm done. you wanna live in jersey go ahead i think that's great I just don't think there's anything there for me. i could make similar arguements for other places
I used to work at that mall, have driven on that bridge, shopped in those strip centers, and picked up girls at all three locations.
Off subject: Please op, put your young opie back in your avi. This just isn't you. Plus it looks more like a monster than your little 5 year old self.
you know what i meant. private colleges and universities would be meaningless in this discussion...granted the former top college(now #2) in the country(along with the top town, are in NJ) http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2005-07-11-nj-town-best-place-to-live_x.htm http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/college/national-search i love living in NJ, and as long as your happy where you are, thats great. i certainly could care less if you lived here, and are not trying to talk you into it. i AM defending my home state. thats all im doing and i'll do it all day and night. you guys bust on my state, im gonna throw it all over you why its better.
this, from the man whose hair product usage is the leading cause of pollution for the entire tri-state area.
I spit but I generally take care to aim it where people wont walk, and would never spit off a balcony or onto someone, thats just wrong.
