Namath seems to be spot on.

I agree that this looks like Parcells Clan hire .Good because the Parcells style of football has been left behind IMO .Its all about wide open offenses and good defenses now.

The running game has become less important as offenses are finding ways to advance with short passes and other ways .The Patriots are a good example of that .Their running game and defense are not even that good but they still win because they score more points than their conservative opponents.

But the Jets were actually one of the few teams that Tony beat somewhat consistently...

Say what you will about Namath, he's spot on IMO. It's exactly what anyone could've said about Tony being hired here.

The Jets don't need too much improvement with offense, and with Tony, that's exactly what they're going to get.

Think of the beautiful irony of the situation. Jeff Fisher hires Brian to be OC here and we win? Awesome. Of course if TS wins and we lose? Yikes...

Kudos to Joe Nameth for speaking out. Sparano would not even be a positions coach in the NFL had not for his daddy Bill Parcells pulling the strings for him.

He might be an idiot, but he is right.

The offense had no identity under Sparano, the OL wasn't anything to write home about (he is an OL coach by trade), and the play calling was beyond conservative. He lacked aggression on offense and there is nothing out there that has shown he should be an OC, let alone a better OC than what they have had in place.

Namath does not like Ryan, so everything he does he says is bad, it happens weekly up here.

    Do you blame him?

Seriously; this hire for the Jets is about as clueless as our having hired Wannstedt as head coach after he singlehandedly dismantled the Bears. No credentials for the job.

Never been a Joe Namath fan, but I can't dog him for this. I have always wanted to kiss Suzy Kolbert too! Even when sober.

Firedan that was funny but its so true. but if we dont get recycled coach then where does the coach come from ? they dont just grow on trees like qb's do. oh wait I mean bad officials. As to Sparano ITS ALL CLEAR TO ME NOW, Parcells and Sparano were working for the jets all along and thats why we have fallen so far.
